makeup 001 In my makeup travel bag :)

One of you lovely readers requested a post with pictures of what beauty products I have in my makeup bag for Dubai so here it goes. I am completely aware of that this is a rediculous amount of beauty products to bring for a short holiday and yes it is embarrassing but I know my self now and I’ve come to the terms of the fact that that’s how it is to be a makeup addict ;) Of course I don’t use any makeup during the day but for going out I like to freshen up with some fun colours and shimmers to brighten the face and experiment with new and old makeup in my own little world.

makeup 008 In my makeup travel bag :)In hindsight I obviously see that I wouldn’t have needed all of these lip glosses, lip sticks, foundations and powders. In fact I’ve only used the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, the Chanel Vitalumiere and the Shiseido powder of them all. I haven’t even used fake eyelashes but the holiday isn’t over yet. Maybe I’ll use some when we’re in London :) The Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer was a must have though!! If you’re looking for a light foundation that moisturizes and evens out your skin - this is it!! It even has 20 spf!makeup 009 In my makeup travel bag :)Basically the Bobbi Brown brush set from the christmas holiday collection I got from James in addition to some very much loved brushes from Mac and Sigma like the 239 and some 217s ++ ;)

In addition to the products above and the new products I picked up from Mac at the air port I’ve also been very lucky to play around with some summer candy from the new summer collection from Chanel that James brought from L.A which I never thought I’d get my hands on and I’m so excited!! I will do a post with pictures and reviews as soon as I come home and have some more time :)

What beauty products are must haves for you on a holiday (except for sunscreen obviously ;) )

0301 Day 3 in Dubai.. or was it day 4? ;)The view is just as magnificent during the day time as it is in the night time. I love the colour of the sea next to the pure white sand. It’s so hot in the sun that it feels like lying in a sunbed without air condition after an hour of running. There is almost no point in putting sunscreen in the face because it all melts away 2 minutes after application anyway so I decided to wear a hat which is probably better for both my skin and hair anyway :)

017 Day 3 in Dubai.. or was it day 4? ;)

The jumpsuit is from asos and the hat is from Accessorize.

When the evening came we decided to explore some more of the lovely surroundings and jumped on a gondola to have a look around the various waterfront hotel complexes.  I wore a lace dress from Zara with one of the new pares of shoes from Carvela and the new Chanel nail polish 557 Morning Rose from the Chanel summer collection that just came out. All three of the nail polishes are absolutely gorgeous and I didn’t think I would get a hold of them – will do a post about them soon.

dubai 3 004 Day 3 in Dubai.. or was it day 4? ;)

I simply love this dress!! It’s not the dolce and gabbana one but it is the closest I get to the perfect white lace summer dress :) They are starting to turn up more and more these days but it’s difficult to get the right fabric and fit. If you come across one it’s definitely worth buying as it will be a big hit this summer! Look for the linen lace and stay away from the stretchy lace from last year :)

dubai 3 026 Day 3 in Dubai.. or was it day 4? ;)

Today we went to Abu Dhabi and it was  so much fun!! I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow. Now I’ve got to go to bed seeing as the alarm goes off at 06.30 in the morning and I’m about to fall asleep on top of the keyboard. I hope you’ve had a lovely day!! xx

001 Dinner in Dubai

The view from the balcony is amazing! The building in front is the famous 7 star hotel Burj Al Arab where the interiors are made of 22 karat gold. You’re only allowed in if you have a reservation at one of the hotel restaurants or bars.  We were thinking of checking it out but I don’t think we will have enough time.

0042 Dinner in Dubai

Last night we went out for dinner to a Chinese restaurant in the hotel next to ours that is meant to be the best Chinese food in town. I get the impression that most of the best restaurants in Dubai are connected to hotels but don’t quote me on that one. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and I wanted to walk over to the restaurant but James really wanted to try out the golf buggies that were driving people around so we did that and I must admit that it was quite nice! Since we were only staying in the hotel area it was ok for me to wear a dress that didn’t cover the shoulders and knees. The dress is from asos.com from the Asos Salon line and luckily one of my new pairs of shoes matched it perfectly. I’ll post some pictures of all the shoes soon! :)

0101 Dinner in Dubai

Tomorrow we are off to Abu Dhabi which is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates and then we have a dinner with a friend of James and are heading back to London on friday morning. The days are really just flying by! James has to go to Abu Dhabi for work so there is a driver that will take me around so that I get to take some tourist pictures ;)

I hope you’re having a lovely tuesday sweeties!! :)

The most frequently asked question from the question session was definitely about how old James is. He is 27, he was 26 when we met – three years older than me. We met in Monaco through mutual friends and fell in love. I’m sorry but it’s as boring as that ;) I wish I could post a picture of him but he refuses so I’ll tell you a little bit about him!

Il est un jeune homme brun et il est trés mignon – he is a dark haired and very handome young man ( I promised my professor de francais that I would practice my french in Dubai ;) ).

He has the most gorgeous blueish greeny yellowish eyes and people actually stop him on the street because of his amazing eye colour which makes him ridiculously proud. His skin is olive and the combination with his slightly darker skin, dark coloured hair and his amazing eye colour is amazing! He is a little bit taller than me and I’m about 1.73 so I’m guessing he is about 1.80 give or take. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be his girlfriend!!!!

I hope that answered some questions for you :)

When I arrived at the airport in London I had four hours to kill before my love arrived from L.A and our flight to Dubai took off. Normally I hate being stuck in airports but terminal five is not the worst place to be stuck as there are loads of things you can do. Being on my own gave me even greater freedom as James normally prefers the BA lounge instead of the shops. These are my recommendations:

Bag a duty free bargain! I like the whole beauty area but my favorite part is:

  • The Mac counter. They don’t have a lot and are often sold out of certain things but you can really save a lot compared with buying Mac elsewhere.

039 Heathrow terminal five :)

  • Perfumes are also fun to buy at the airport! I like the thought of having a perfume that can remind me of every holiday, but this time I didn’t find any. Hopefully I’ll find one next time we’re at the airport!
  • I love to go to Kurt Geiger for shoes!! This time it was a dangerous place because there were so many pretty shoes. I ended up wanting 8-9 pairs but I bought four, and two of them were only sandals ;)

031 Heathrow terminal five :)

Eat! Except for shopping, what’s better than eating while you’re waiting? James and I love Giraffe and Wagamama. Giraffe has all kinds of food and Wagamama is mainly asian food. I had some delicious scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and a fresh smoothie at Giraffe :) I haven’t tried the Gordon Ramsay restaurant because James says it’s a complete waste of time, so I kind of lost the urge to try it out ;) I have to mention that the staff at Giraffe are always super friendly and helpful!

Spa! If you have enough time in the airport you should definitely check this out. Leave the manicure and pedicure for them to do and arrive at your destination with perfect fingers and toes! The spa is located at the b-terminal of terminal 5. You can check out the website for the spa here. I recommend calling in advance to book an appointment so that you’re sure you’ll get your apointment, luckily they had time when I came and I did “the first pedicure” which consist of scrub, massage and nailpolish. They have a wide selection of OPI nailpolishes but if you have a special nail polish with you that you’d rather have applied they can use that instead :)

0091 Heathrow terminal five :)

By the way, my travel outfit is the best I’ve ever worn! Stylish yet comfortable for both the cold airport and the hot climate in Dubai when we landed. Both my shoulders and knees were also covered ;)

038 Heathrow terminal five :)

037 Heathrow terminal five :)

Jumpsuit from asos.com and blazer from Zara. I wore it with my very mush loved maxi bag from Chanel :) I’m so pleased about the fact that I can fit a camera, an ipad and a mini pc in the bag with the chargers as well and still have room for some beauty products!

Four hours went by way too quickly and I actually wish I had had more time as I ended up running to the gate without the nail polish having dried! Oh well, luckily I bought some sandals so it all went well :) Which airport is your favorite? What do you normally do when you’re in the airport and what do you like to travel in? xx

dubaibilde Packing for Dubai

Dubai is a muslim city which means that there are some unwritten rules that should be followed. I think it’s important to respect the religion of the place you are visitting as I also wish people would do the same when visiting my country.

It really depends on where you are going, with who and at what time when it comes to clothing. To be honest, I wouldn’t wear a mini skirt and a top anywhere as they genuinely view you as a prostitute if you show too much skin. Even in the mall there are some cafes that are divided into sitting areas for men on one side and men in the company of a woman and women on their own on the opposite side.

musl Packing for Dubai

Rules to keep in mind:

  • Men should only wear shorts on the beach and stick to long thin trousers for anywhere else. Only a shirt or a t-shirt with a collar is accepted with the trousers.
  • Women should not wear anything shorter than knee length skirts or shorts as well as have the shoulders, stomach and chest covered. As for western restaurants and clubbing in night time you can wear what ever you want as I actually felt uncomfortable in my maxi dress in between all the cute and fancy dresses last year in the Fairmont Hotel club. Oh well, it’s still better to wear too much than too little!
  • When vistiting souks, mosques and museums you should wear long trousers or skirts with shirts or blouses that covers your elbows. Edit: non Muslims are not allowed into any mosque, except for Sh. Zayed Mosque (outside area only), and it’s located in Abu Dhabi the capital of UAE.
  • There are certain areas on the beach where you shouldn’t wear only a bikini. Try to get a hotel with a private beach or pool area.

Last time we were in Dubai we stayed at The Adress Down Town Hotel which is located right opposite of the Burj and very closely to the worlds biggest mall. I was so eager to hit the mall as I had been informed that everything is taxfree and therefore a lot cheaper. Don’t get fooled by this. It’s true that the prizes are taxfree but they’ve turned up the prizes so much that it’s actually more expensive even without the tax.

This time I’m not going to shop anything (maybe I’ll just pop by very quickly at Inglot and Mac…;) ). We decided to stay at one of the hotels by the beach since it doesn’t make any sense to be close to the mall anyway. The hotel is called Jumeirah Beach Hotel and it has a private beach so that I can jump into my bikini without feeling uncomfortable :)

With this in mind and the fact that it’s boiling hot I’m trying to pack for Dubai. Actually I need to pack for both Dubai and London since we are going to London over the weekend before we get back to Monaco. I’m thinking maxi’s with scarfs or cardigans over the shoulders, dresses with arms in a decent length, trousers in thin material, t-shirts that are not too tight, a dress or two for clubbing and lots and lots of accessories to funk it up in the daytime!

When you are going away for a holiday it’s important to think about the details as it is tremendously annoying to have forgotten something that would look perfect with that special item. It is also important not to overpack as I have now learnt. Plan your wardrobe for the stay with accessories like nail laquers, eyeliners and jewellery that works with several items.

pakking 005 Packing for Dubai

In between all this packing I’m munching on norwegian easter marzipan from my sweet mom and dark french chocolate. Mmmmmm delicious… or is it? To be honest I don’t even like marzipan but there is something nostalgic about these traditions so I eat the svine national christmas dish on christmas eve and I eat the marzipan in the easter even though I don’t like either of them.

When packing makeup I’ve found that a good makeup bag is key for a satisfying result! There is nothing more annoying than not being able to find that special eyeliner quickly when the boyfriend is naging about the time. My favorite is a gift from my mom and it’s from Burburry with lots of cleaver solutions. It’s made of a soft material which makes it easier to close it when very full. Besides the fact that it’s absolutely stunning I love that I can open it on both sides and there are lots of small pockets along the walls inside. Simply perfect! Good makeup bags are under rated!

Happy easter lovlies!!! :) I hope you’re all having a lovely time!! xx

Can you recommend a primer and a mascara?

I´m not quite sure what kind of primer you mean so I´ll recommend all kinds.

  • Primer for eye lids: Urban Decay Primer Potion.
  • Eyelash primer: Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus.
  • Foundation primer acne: For acne prone skin with flaking and chapped skin I recommend La Roche-Posay Cicaplast which is fragrance free, non comedogenic, antibacterial and can be used on lips as well. It prevents foundation build up on dry and chapped skin around break outs because it leaves the skin smooth.
  • Foundation Primer Large Pores: If you have a problem with large pores I think the POREfessional from Benefit is good. It´s an oil free lighweight silky balm and is only meant to be used in areas with large pores, not in the whole face, and works good underneath your normal primer. Estee Lauder Idealist serum is even better but a little bit more expensive.
  • Foundation Primer dry skin: The best primer for dry skin is Kanebo Sensai Smoothing Water Makeup Base! It´s tested to leave your skin 400% more moistened 30 min after application. I love it!!

My favorite mascara at the moment is YSL Faux Cils and I use it in a brown shade for everyday and black for weekends :)

I´m looking for a good highlighter! One I can use for everyday that doesn´t contain too much glitter. Preferably a liquid highlighter. Which ones do you recommend?

I am, as many of you already know, completely in love with the Dior Amber Diamond #002 which I think is the most gorgeous highlighter there is because of its beautiful natural glow without any glitter. I haven´t tried that many liquid highlighters to be honest but of the ones I´ve tried Benefit High Beam is my favorite. Another solution is to use Vanilla pigment from Mac. You can use it dry as it is or blend it with your moisturiser/primer/foundation. YSL Touche Eclat can also be used on the cheekbones and will give you a very natural result.

How can I conceal a spot so that it´s less prominent? I can camouflage the colour, but I still think it´s very visable because of the bump on the skin. Is there any advice you can give to make it less visable? :)

The texture of the skin is what it is and makeup can´t do anything about it. There are techniques for adding shadow which work for photoshoots but not so much in real life. La Roche-Posay Cica Plast (as mentioned above) is a great primer to avoid the dry chapping parts of the spot leaving it a bit more smooth. What you should do is to be more careful with your skin care. I recommend Jan Marini for a acne prone skin. Diane birth control pills can also help.

What three eyeshadows are your favorite for everyday use?

That is a difficult question as I don’t normally wear any eyeshadow for the everyday but when I do it´s usually Mac Blanc Type, Mac Naked Lunch and Mac Charcoal Brown. I also use Mac Omega on my eye brows ;)

Do you have any secret makeup tricks?

Haha no I think I´ve shared most of them in my tutorials. I will put up a post on how to contour the face ; where to put the blush, shadow and highlights which can change ones appearance quite a lot if done correctly. I also did a post with lots of small tricks on my old blog, I´ll do one again :)

How did you become so talented?

Thank you sweetie! I´ve just read articles in magazines, blogs, watched youtube videos and practiced on myself.

What´s the worst makeup mistake you see?

Difficult because there are so many bad ones but as using the wrong foundation shade is so obvious I will go for when someone has plucked their eye brows wrong, lined them up with a harsh pencil line or even used mascara to colour them. Very bad! I once refused to sell a mascara because she was going to use it on her brows.

Wow, very artistic photo there, did u do the make up yourself?

Thank you honey! Yes I did :)

Can you make some creative makeup videos? I´m doing a lot of photoshoots and I need some inspiration :)

I don´t do any videos unfortunately and I prefer to make more wearable looks as most people find these more usefull. I recommend youtube for creative looks :)

My question is what five beauty items would you take on a deserted island? And one more…what is your favorite fragrance for each season?

The five beauty items I would take to a deserted island are sunscreen from Kanebo Sensai or Dior, a hair brush, razor blades, shampoo and Elisabeth Arden 8 hour cream ;)

Perfume fall/winter: I would go for a romantic heavier perfume. I find it difficult to find perfumes for winter but I really like the Tom Ford Black Orchid.

Perfume spring/summer: Light and fresh perfumes are perfect for this season. I have a lot of favorites but I find myself reaching for these more than others: Flower Bomb and Eau Mega by Viktor and Rolf, Inspiration by Lacoste, Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, Flora by Gucci and London by Celina which I have made myself :D

024 Answers to the questions Makeup no 1

What inspires you?

I get inspired by everything really. Tv, movies, celebrities, magazines, eyeshadows placed next to each other in a palette, the sky, flowers, random peoples eye colour, pictures, other beauty bloggers, youtube gurus, animals, books… everything!

What hair removal products do you use?

I use razors from Venus together with LÓccitane body shower oil.

Can you do a tutorial on your best everyday look?

I like to keep it quite natural for everyday but of course I can do a tuorial on a everyday look for you :)

Can you do a series of posts with 5 top blushes, top mac eyeshadows and so on?

That is a great idea, thank you! I will :)

Do you prefer lipgloss or lipstick?

Lipgloss for daytime and lipstick for evening I´d say :)

Do you follow other bloggers?

Yes, I love to read other blogs when I have some spare time!

What´s your best beauty tip? :)

Drink a lot of water, stay away from candy and use products suited for your skin! Proper makeup brushes are key to a good makeup result :)

I´m flying long haul next week and need a spray mist for my face. I always feel so dried up when travelling by air,  have you got any tips?

I know exactly what you mean and I´ve found the best spray there is! Kanebo Sensai Hydrachange Mist is what you´re looking for. The Hydrachange Mist comes in a thin nice looking bottle and contains 100 ml – which is perfect with flight regulations! It looks like water but feels like a very liquidy serum. The spray is also very good leaving a light mist on your face which means that you can easily use it on top of makeup without messing anything up. It’s actually a mix of water with hyaluronic acid that allows skin to hold onto the moisture and retain it. When James tried it for the first time (well I forced it on him) he was completely sold and went to buy one for himself to have in his office and this is a guy that only uses aftershave in the morning. I’m definitely bringing mine for my flights next week :)

010 Answers to the questions Makeup no 1

What is it really that you do, are you a profesional makeup artist? :)

I´m only a makeup addict without any kind of formal education in makeup artistry. Makeup artist is however not a protected title so I would call myself a self taught makeup artist :)

What makeup product can you not live without? :)

Tough question! I don´t think there is anything I really need as I sometimes don´t wear any makeup at all. I guess a concealer or eyebrow colour is something I  reach for more often than other things.

Do you have to be careful with products containing ingredients that clog your pores or can your skin tolerate most products? Can you make a post about your skin care routine?

I have suffered from really bad acne for 6 years and react to a lot of products. Decleor which is a big favourite amongst a lot of people gives me a rash so I have to be super careful about what I put on my skin. I can do a post about my skin care routine :)

I love makeup and I wish I knew how to put on eye shadows better but I think it’s a little bit difficult to follow your steps in pictures, could you please do a video?

Unfortunately I don’t have the equipment I need to do a video and I’m probably way too much of a coward to upload anyway ;) I’ll try to explain everything better in the tutorials and if the blog gets bigger and a lot of you request videos I might do that one day.

I love foundation and I use it during summer as well but sometimes when it becomes very hot my face gets wet, do you have any advice on this matter or any products I can use?

Your face gets wet? Do you mean sweaty? What about using a tinted moisturizer instead? I love the tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier and it covers suprisingly well for being a tinted moisturizer! If you feel your skin gets oily then perhaps a powder foundation would be a better choice. Blotting papers are also lifesaviours throughout the day if you suffer from oily skin.

I’ve never really understood what a highlighter is, when it’s supposed to be applied (on top of powder, under foundation…??) and where??? What is a highlighter really?

I think this is something a lot of you are wondering about. When I had the contest for the Dior highlighter a lot of you thought it was an eyeshadow palette. I will definitely write a post on this :)

I would love to hear your thoughts about what products you can’t live without, which beauty products you’d bring to a deserted island, what eye shadows are your favorites and what’s your beauty tip!! xx

005 Je suis une étudiante!!!! :)

I’m finally back online with the blog and I’m so excited! I’m more addicted to internet access than I thought I was as I’ve felt completely lost these past few days without my dear macbook. The computer is unfortunately still not repaired but I couldn’t wait anymore so I went out and bought myself a mini pc untill I have either my macbook back or a new one :) I’ve missed you guys incredibly much and I just have to say that I really apprecciate the comments I’ve gotten! I know it’s weird but I really view you as my friends and I’ve missed our mutual ravings for beauty products and girly stuff! I get your comments straight to my blackberry so I can read them but I can’t reply to them which has really bugged me. I need to find a solution for that!

008 Je suis une étudiante!!!! :)

Since I get bored easily when I don’t have anything to do I signed up for a french course and I’m loving it! French is actually not as hard as I thought now that I’ve gotten a closer look at the grammar and how letters and words are pronounced (not that I can speak much yet). The course is very basic and goes on for two weeks but I’m just doing one week because I’m off to Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Sunday!!!! James, my love, went to London and L.A last sunday and we’re going to meet up in London to fly to Dubai together in two days. I can’t wait to see him as I hate being apart from him, especially a whole week! After Dubai we’re going to London for a couple of days before we head back to Monaco again. Note to self: Have to pack!!

009 Je suis une étudiante!!!! :)

As far as the apartment goes there is still a lot work left to do but we are certaintly getting there. All the bathrooms are finished, James’ dressing room is finished, my dressing room only needs lights by the mirror on the vanity wall, the walls are painted, the marbel floors are polished and work on the kitchen has begun. The sofa is arriving the week after we get back to Monaco!! :) I’ve gathered the prizes for the contest together and started packing them in cute little bags ready to be shipped… :)

003 Je suis une étudiante!!!! :)

The last couple of days have been really sunny and I’ve spent them lying on the beach all day after the french course with some wonderful girls and stumbled home at 18:00 after three bottles of rosé and a red nose with fresh freckles on it. Gotta love summer!! With summer comes tourists and they tend to come by sea in big cruise ships. When I woke up to this giant madame outside the bedroom I had to take a picture. Aueen Mary II is one of the worlds biggest cruise ships and you can really see how big she is compared to the big yacht and normal sized boat next to her…

101 Je suis une étudiante!!!! :)

Tomorrow I’m planning on going to San Remo, Italy, with friends. Although Monaco is a beautiful place it’s nice to explore other cities around as well :) I hope you’ve had a wonderful time and that all is well!! Lots of kisses xxx

Everything technology based seems to get in my way these days. First the internet went down in the new flat and then my computer decided to no longer switch on due to stupid kernel attacks what ever they are.. The computer is at the repair shop and I will be back and posting as soon as the computer is up and running again. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend (one that isn’t plagued by computer worries)

apekatt Answers to the questions Personal part 1

How old are you?

I am 24 years old

What zodiac sign are you?

I´m born on the 23th of October which is right in the midle of Libra and Scorpio so I think I´m a mix or a little bit of a schizo if you will. My chinese sign is tiger anyway, that I´m sure of :)

Where in Norway are you from?
I was born in Stenungsund in Sweden which is approximately 30 min outside of Gothenburg. When I was six years old I moved to Norway with my mother and my older sister. We moved to Sandefjord which is about 2 hours south of Oslo, by the coast.

What do you normally eat (or not eat), do you follow a special diet?

I don´t follow any particular diet but I try to not eat too much bread as I´m a little bit allergic to wheat. Luckily I don´t really like pasta ;) I really love sashimi and all kinds of fish and I also eat a lot of chicken. Of the diets out there I really just trust the low carb ones.

Have you had any plastic surgery/restylane and what are your thoughts about plastic surgery?

Haha, no I haven´t had anything done at all and I don´t think I will either untill I´ve had kids and then I may want a little lift but I wont know for sure untill I´m there.

Are you thinking about learning french since you live in Monaco? / Do you speak french?

I don´t speak any french yet unfortunately as I´ve been focusing on perfecting my english first so that I can study in english without any problems, this is also one of the reasons I´ve been writing in both norwegian and english ;) I will definitely learn french at some point and I´ve been looking at different intensive courses. Although you can easily live in Monaco without speaking french I think it´s important to learn the language of the country you live in.

Do you make any money on the blog?

No, at this point I´m not making any money on the blog. I started blogging for fun as a hobby alongside my job when I lived in Norway and decided to continue blogging when I moved. Blogging has been good for me as I think I would go mad if I didn´t have anything to do. I´m used to working so it was a big change for me to quit my job and not have anything to go to, luckily blogging is a lot of work. I´ve had several companies contact me but I haven´t really found anyone I want to work with that allows me to still give my honest opinions which is very important to me. If I get the opportunity to work with someone that allows me to give my honest opinion I will go for it :)

What makes you happy and what would be your perfect day?

James is, not surprisingly, what makes me happy. He is the true love of my life and as long as I´m with him I´m happy! A sunny day on the beach with James without any phones would be the perfect day :) I´d give away his phones for free any time!

Do you have any siblings?

Yes I do. I have an older brother and an older sister that I grew up with and I have two half sisters as well :)

Where in the world have you traveled? / Where have you been and where do you want to go?

I´ve been to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Germany, France, Monaco, Italy, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Ireland, Czech Republic, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Thailand, Indonesia, China and Dubai.

I want to travel everywhere but these are on my list of places I have to go to at some point: India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan, Cuba, Australia, the US, South Africa, New Zealand, Chile, Fiji, Philipines and Greece. The blue is where I´ve been, the red is where I´ve lived and the green is where I want to go.

Do you have many friends in Monaco?

No, I have far from many friends in Monaco, most of our friends are friends of James. It is very difficult to find ”normal” and nice girls here. I was lucky and found a super adorable Swedish girl right away and when I found her some of her friends turned out to be nice as well, the last couple of months I have found even more which helps:) I’m probably not the easiest person to get to know as I can be very shy to begin with ….

Are you a tough person? What is the most frigthening thing you´ve ever done?

Haha, depends what you mean by tough! I’m terrified of rats and nasty birds, but I’ve dived with sharks and played with tigers. I’m very shy and thrive with routines and things I am used to, but I love to travel and jump into the unknown to encounter all the exciting possibilities that life has to offer. The most frightening I’ve done was to jump on a plane to London to meet James again after having only known him a few days. At that point I was scared to death! :)

How often do you exercise?

I used to exersise a lot, but when I moved to Monaco I didn´t have a gym to go to so I really feel I lost a lot of muscle. We just joined a gym last month and untill now I´ve been about 5 times a week and I´m loving it!! :)

What´s your opinion about self tan, restylane, botox, fake nails and hair extensions? I see a lot of other bloggers rave about hair extensions but you dont seem to use them?

I use sunscreen during summer to protect my skin but I still think it´s nice to have a tan so sometimes I use a little bit on my legs and face but I would never use it all over my body several times a week as I think that looks rather stupid no matter how good the self tan is. It´s still obvious that it´s fake! Restylane and Botox is something I stay away from and I think it´s scary to see so many young people using this. What is happening??

I don´t mind fake nails and I use them myself :) I´d much rather have the real thing but my nails are thin, brittle and useless. I still like to keep them short and as natural as possible! Hair extensions are something I don´t really get. Why would you ruin your own hair just to have nice hair for a couple of months? I´d rather spend the money on good quality hair products and build up my own hair :)

Have you always wanted to live in another country than Norway? How did you end up in Monaco?

I have always felt a great urge to travel and see the world before it´s too late, but I didn´t think I would settle down abroad for the rest of my life. When I was 20 I got into a conversation with a colleague about moving abroad. She had previously been on a holiday in Nice and convinced me it was the perfect place with a short flight home :) We booked our flights, packed our bags and booked two nights at a hotel. During the second day in Nice we found an apartment in the old town of Nice and moved in.

We had a contract for 1 year, but I chose to move home after 6 months because I felt that there were a lot of fake people around us and I missed my real friends around me. My colleague stayed and eventually moved to just outside of Monaco. A couple of years passed which I spent travelling and working before my studies were due to begin. I got a place on the course I wanted at the university I wanted to go to, a really nice apartment and had time for one last vacation before the studies began and decided to visit my friend who I had lived with. She knew James a little and love was in the air … the rest of the story you´ll get in the next part <3
