I just found out that Nelly ships to France and Monaco as well as Scandinavia so I’m super excited as this is one of the best sites to go for treasure hunting! Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

I made this makeup look before my first photo shoot as I wanted something slightly different and fun at the same time as it’s not too crazy and came up with this.

I used:

The first time I did the look (for the photoshoot) I used Mac Satin Taupe instead of Nyx Iced Mocha, but I dropped it on the floor a while back and I have forgotten to buy a new one. Iced Mocha is often referred to as a dupe of Satin Taupe, so I’m using that.

1. Start with priming your eye lids both above and under your eye, and do your eyebrows as you normally do.

2. Place the jumbo eyepencil in Iced Mocha on the lid (or Mac Satin Taupe eyeshadow). Isn’t the iced mocha just gorgeous?

3. Take a blending brush and apply some of Copperplate and Kid in the crease. I like to use Kid to get a nice gradient finish as it is a very natural brown shade colour but I chose to use Copperplate as well to make it slightly more smokey towards the outer corner.

4. Take the same brush and apply a darker colour in the outer corner to give some more definition. I chose to use Mystery. If you need some inspiration for new daytime makeup looks you can stop at this point and apply one coat of mascara and you’re done. Super chic. If you’re looking for something more fun then keep on reading.

5. To make the purple colour more vibrant it’s a good idea to use a purple base as well, I chose to use the Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Purple.

6. Pack on the pigment Violet from Mac on top of the Purple JEP to make it really stick on.

7. Line your lash line with a black creamy eye liner, I love to use Stila eye liners for these purposes as it is really long lasting and easy to apply. Make sure you really tight line the lash line so that you get a nice and intense eye.

8. Take a pointy brush like the Sigma SS219 (don’t remember the new name!) and smudge out the lower lashline with a black eyeshadow so that you get a gradient finish from the black and over to the violet colour. Smudge a little bit extra towards the outer corner. Dab the colour on top of the line you made on your upper lash line so that the line stays in place for longer. Clean up any mess, and take a blending brush and blend out the violet colour with the light brown Kid eyeshadow. Apply some of Blanc Type on your brow bone for a more defined brow.

9. Apply mascara (and false lashes if you want some extra pow), and you’re done :D

I’ve had a million questions about what lip product I used, and I’m sorry to say that it’s simply a clear plumping lipgloss from Dior (Maximizer).

I forgot the lipliner at home so I had to use my brow liner which worked perfectly fine for the photoshoot but I wouldn’t recommend it for anywhere else. The rest of my face is covered in lots of powder with a dash of Fleur Power from Mac in the apples of my cheeks as well as some contouring products which I’ll tell you all about some other time as it really is something that only works for photoshoots.

I hope you enjoyed the makeup tutorial. If you don’t like purple you can easily switch it out with turquoise, green or even a metallic copper or gold :) xx

I mentioned to you the other day how my hair has grown faster than ever and I gave all credits to the fact that I have switched hair products from Kerastase to natural and safe ingredients brands like Alexander Sprekenhus and Moroccan Oil.

The reason to why I bring this up once more is that I completely forgot to mention a product I’ve been using which might be a big part of my results. This is the John Masters Organics Deep Scalp Follicle Tretment & Volumizer For Thinning Hair. I got this because I was looking for a plain volumizing product that didn’t contain any harmful ingredients and didn’t leave much thought to the part where it claims “A leave in solution that helps to promote healthy growth by improving the condition of your scalp.” as I have never before seen any true results from fast growth products like that. So when I picked up this product this morning it suddenly hit me that this little bottle probably have done more than I thought it had…

Could it really be that this together with organic shampoo and conditioner promotes hair growth? Yes, I’m impressed! The best part is that it’s really inexpensive, a little goes a long way and it´s super easy to use. After I’ve washed my hair I apply Alexander Sprekenhus One Day Straightener (heat protectant) to the hair and follow up with spraying John Masters Organics into my roots and gently massage it in. When your hair has dried you can’t feel it at all which is a big plus for me (and the boyfriend) as I hate having sticky hair that I can’t slide my fingers through.

It’s insane that it’s been a year already, yet it has definitely become my favorite shoe heaven as there is something in all price ranges for all occasions. I put together a little summary of this seasons trends:

Yesterday evening there was a fire in our building which is why it was no blogging yesterday. The fire didn’t cause any drama but I didn’t want to take a risk so I kept an eye on the firemen instead ;)

I had a calm and peaceful morning yesterday with a cup of rose tea in the sun while I was gazing out at the newly arrived boats. Sometimes it’s actually very exciting boats to wake up to as well. I’m not particularly boat interested, but it’s the first thing I see when I wake up and the only thing that really changes from day to day and therefore perceived as exciting for my sleepy and not yet funtioning head. The staring is of course a complete brain dead activity which is highly appreciated in the morning before I have woken up and come to my senses. I’m not one of those who wake up happy and bubbly at 07, to put it that way, so it takes time for me to wake up. I am, however, a superhero by night :D Anyone recognize themselves?

Because the nail salon I normally go to was fully booked I had to get an appointment in a salon I’ve never been to which is something I rather avoid in case of disaster but luckily it turned out perfectly fine. I like to keep my gel nails natural but this time I also decided I wanted a slight pink tint as I saw a lot of the girls in Beirut had their nails done like that and I loved it! The very white french tip looks trashy in my opinion so I stay clear away from that..

The nails are a little bit thicker and longer than I like them to be but other than that I’m very happy and it’s nice to finally feel more like a girl again after weeks of travelling which means no time for vanity time at salons. Next up is a trip to the hair dresser Nicky Clarke in London, I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about going to the hair dresser as it so very much needed now. Can you believe it’s really 6 months since last time I had it coloured??

Last time I was at the hair dresser I only had time for cutting which was almost 2 months ago so I’m only doing colouring/highlights this time which is about time. It’s amazing how much my hair has grown the last couple of months though. Do you remember I was in London for the concours d’elegance? I cut my hair the same day which was almost two months ago.

As you can see my natural hair colour is pretty blonde so I’m thinking of going back to that colour and stop colouring and highlighting my hair as it is very damaging. Thank God I’ve had wonderful hair products lately which I suspect is the main reason to why my hair is so long and manageble at the moment. Healthy and happy scalp equals healthy and quickly growing hair! I’m having some difficulties getting into my two XS dresses from Herve Leger at the moment (time to shape up after a completely lazy summer!!) so I ordered it in S thinking that it would be perfect, unfortunately it was too late to send it back when we got home so I’m sure I’ll find a tailor that can help me. Last day in Paris – Disneyland

A cute reader told me that the suite we’ve been staying at is the same as Carrie stayed at together with Petrovsky in Sex and the city. The pictures are taken in slightly different angles (and I suspect she was standing on top of something) but yet I find it fun that we took almost the same pictures.

After having gone for shopping and lunch with friends on wednesday while James was busy with meetings, James and I decided to stay in and order room service while watching a movie in bed. I completely forgot to tell you that the tv is hidden behind the mirror in the lounge, how cool is that??

We were supposed to leave for London on wednesday, but as usual the plans change at the last minute. We decided to stay one more night to go to Disneyland with a couple of friends as several of us have never been. Going to Disneyland was one of my biggest dreams when I was little but we always spent the holidays on our sail boat instead, so I felt like I was a five year old princess discovering fairies, rainbows and unicorns again…

Now we’re finally back home instead of London. The new plans are that I’m going to stay in Monaco for a week while James does some work in London, and then we’ll meet at the Monaco boat show before going back to London together.

After writing about my dilemma I went shopping with a friend of mine and finally got to buy the Balenciaga bag I’ve been dreaming of. Thank you so much for all the help with choosing which colour to go for, I simply love you and would´ve been so lost without you!! <3

I still want a coloured one as well but I’m thinking I’ll wait untill the new spring colours are launched. Balenciaga does colours so well so I’m sure there will be something I’d like to have when that time comes! Who knows, maybe I’ve fallen in love with a completely different bag by then ;)

Balenciaga in Paris didn’t have the one I’ve been planning on buying. She said it was in the spring collection and is just about impossible to get anywhere, but I found it online on the french Balenciaga online store. They did however have another one I really liked so I need your help to decide which one I should go for!
