November 2011

We were sitting quitely in the office working when I got a sudden urge to go to the movies. Monaco wasn’t showing anything interesting so I looked up what was being showed in Nice and found a movie I was sure James would like to see, The Ides of March, a movie about politics with a title making reference to a play by Shakespeare. Just as I expected James was all in and five minutes later we were on our way to the cinema in Nice :D

From Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar which is based on Plutarch’s Life of Julius Caesar:

Caesar:
Who is it in the press that calls on me?
I hear a tongue shriller than all the music
Cry “Caesar!” Speak, Caesar is turn’d to hear.

Soothsayer:
Beware the ides of March.

Caesar:
What man is that?

Brutus:
A soothsayer bids you beware the ides of March.

The importance of the ides of March for Caesar is that it is the day he will be assassinated by a group of conspirators, including Brutus and Cassius. Despite numerous and improbable portents—the soothsayer’s warning, some fearsome thundering, his wife’s dreams of his murder, and so on—Caesar ventures forth on the ides to meet his doom.

After the movie we went for a romantic dinner at La Petite Maison. I had fish soup and James had sole meuniere. Delicious! After the dinner we wandered around in the park for a little while before we returned to Monaco.

Good morning sweets! I just sat down to do some work after having made healthy home made breakfast crackers this morning. I haven’t tried them yet as they are still cooling down, but they look delicious! I will of course share the recipe with you once I’ve tried them and made sure they are edible ;) And as you see I’m back in my sofa again, when James came home last night he immediately moved all my stuff away :p One day it will be mine moahaha :D

I’ve completely forgotten to tell you.. We fired the cleaner at last, or James did. James told her we were going to travel untill April and therefor wouldn’t need her untill then.. maybe.. unless we didn’t call her by then.. since we were travelling and.. maybe had to stay longer. While he wrapped himself deeper into the lie in the very polite English way with the puppy look on his face (think Hugh Grant) I stood behind him in the door pretending to be very busy figuring out how my curling iron with only one button worked with guilt written all over my face. The five minutes felt like an hour at least, but finally it was done and I hope we’ll never have to that again.

Better get going now, but I have to give a big thank you for all of the amazing comments I’ve received lately.. You are such wonderful people and I feel so lucky to “know you”!! :D

It’s no secret that guys are naturally attracted to long hair because it signifies good health and fertility. “Subconsciously men are hardwired to notice tiny details in women such as fullness of the cheeks, color of the skin and other more sexual details that indicate a good candidate for passing on genes with a good partner. On a purely animalistic (pre health care caveman days) level a woman that is healthy enough to grow nice long hair is probably not sickly or vitamin deficient. It is a biological advantage for a male to pass on his genes to a female that is healthy enough to carry his offspring to term and beyond.”

Long hair can also be a beautiful accessorie itself. If you are having trouble finding a wow-dress, then maybe beautiful hair is your solution :)

If you want something fun and cool then maybe the style of miss Conrad could be something for you, either like the picture above or like this? It wont hurt your own hair if you dye the fake hair and no one will know theehee ;)

I thought about this because I just got an email from Locks & Bonds which I bought my favorite hair from. You can read about my hair here. They are currently having a Holiday Sale with 10% off all Clip-Ins, and 14 blended colors to choose from!

sale Christmas party accessorie: Hair

The code works untill december 4.

Btw, Locks & Bonds does not use unethically sourced Indian hair. L&B does not use Temple hair, but only hair from donors for a fair price. They have written about this on their website here where it says “about our hair”. Oh, and in case you were wondering I bought my hair with my own money as part of a quest for the perfect extention hair, and this is my favorite clip in hair :)

Can you believe it’s Monday again already? James is off to London for the day so I’m spending the day in his office pretending it’s my office :D As soon as we find him a new nice office somewhere here in Monaco this room will be all mine and all of the cords, wires and files will be switched out with pretty little girly things all perfectly organised :) Speaking of offices, according to a guy that works at one of James’ offices James is a “water pig” in chinese astrology (hahaha, how cute is that) and I’m a “fire tiger”. Do you know what you are?

The glassdoors are shaded so I just had to open them up so you could see the real view.. isn’t it pretty?? We have the same view from the lounge, kitchen, bedroom and guest bedroom/study :)

Love the taste of the tangerines this time of the year. I think I ate about 10 of them yesterday :D Yum!

I’m supposed to focus on what I’m doing, but I’m completely obsessed with WordFeud!! Anyone else play?

I love saturdays!! Not that it makes that big of a difference to me what day it is, but it’s nice to walk around and see smiling people in the streets. Today we decided to go to Virage which is a really great restaurant located just by the port.

I finally got some new products from Alexander Sprekenhus which I LOVE!! The products smells amazing and makes my hair all shiny and soft :) They have just made a new hair masque which I am so excited about trying!! I also received a BB cream which is a big hit amongst asian women which I’m super excited about trying out as well. The third box contained Swarovski crystals which was sent to me from cheapsmells.com.

I love getting things in the mail box!!! Makes such a great start of the day!

What a wonderful question! I’m a complete “to do list- person” which means I make to do lists for everything every day, including things to experience in life. I’m a big believer in throwing one self into unfamiliar situations and make as many memories as possible. The thought of having no stories to tell my grand kids is way more frightening than anything.. I want to have lived!

My list (green = done, red = not done yet, orange= in progress)

  1. Play with tigers, both big frightening sizes and small and cute babies!
    - I got to play with big tigers in Thailand and small baby tigers in Indonesia.
cuddle1 Question: What is on your bucket list of things to do in life?
  2. Bungee jump the highest jump in the world
    -  After my sister came home with a video of her jump I knew that it was something I had to do as well.
  3. Backpacking for months
    - I went on an around the world trip with only a backpack for 4 months. Spiders and cockroaches don’t frighten me so much anymore ;)
  4. Go on a private jet
    - I went on a private jet from London to Paris which was amazingly cool!
  5. Get a degree in something
    - Yes, in progress despite numerous questions in the likes of “will you ever get a job or study”. Because I like to keep some thing personal I will not say anything more about what it is or how long I’m studying for :)
  6. Love someone, and be loved in the same way in return.
    - I remember being a little girl thinking this would be a major problem in my life. To find someone I would like to spend the rest of my life with, AND for that person to feel the same way about me seemed impossible. I feel really fortunate to have experienced true love, and hope (and believe) it will last for the rest of my life :D
  7. Get married
    - Everywhere I turn people ask me this. Don’t you want to get married soon? Honestly, I feel no rush for getting married nor have kids. I am still very young and I think marriage and having kids is maybe the most important decisions in life, so knowing my self and my restless soul I want to want marriage and kids for several years everyday before I take the big step. Judging by the statistics more people should’ve done the same.
  8. Dive with sharks
    - This is maybe the biggest adrenalin kick I’ve ever had!  I dived with Sand Tiger Shark, Leopard Shark, Tawny Nurse Shark, Black Tipped Reef Shark, Bamboo Cat Shark, Port Jackson Shark, and, Varied Cat Shark.
sharks1 Question: What is on your bucket list of things to do in life?
  9. Eat all the world’s discusting delicacies that come my way.
    - So far I’ve had grasshopper, sheep brain, sheep tongue and tequila caterpillar. Yum! ;)
  10. Become a mum
    - As mentioned, this is not something I’m stressing about but of course it’s on my list of things I want to happen in life.
  11. Move to a country I’ve never been to before
    -  I moved to Nice with a friend without ever having been to France before. We didn’t even have an apartment at the time we arrived. Thanks to great friends we got an apartment within 2 days and stayed there for about a year. Great times in life that I will never forget!
  12. Learn a new language
    - I’ve learned two languages so far (Norwegian and English) in addition to my mother tongue Swedish. I’m also doing quite well in learning French.
  13. Learn how to speak in front of a big crowd without stuttering and/or shaking without drinking alcohol in advance
    - This might come as a shock to many of you but I’m the most shy person in the world and my biggest fear in life is to talk in front of a big crowd. Yet here I am typing on my computer sharing my whole life with a bunch of strangers :D
  14. Win a championhip
    - I was a dancer when I was a bit younger and won two Norwegian Championships when I was about 14. I was a freestyle/disco/jazz dancer which is a mix of gymnastics and dance which means lots of splits, jumps and spins while smiling to the judges.
  15. Set foot on each of the seven continents.
    - This is something I’ve been wanting to do forever. So far I’ve been to Asia, Europe, North America and South America, which means I need to go to Antartica, Australia and Africa :)
  16. Trekking through the jungle on the back of a two story tall elephant
    - I did this in the north of Thailand, but I’m guessing I will be doing it very soon again as James’s favorite animal is the elephant yet he has never actually met one. So I’m hoping this is something I can do for him very soon!!

  17. See the Carnival parade in Brazil
    - My first destination of the backbacking trip was Brazil and we were so lucky to come straight to the Carnival. Fun!
  18. Publishing personal articles for everyone to see, also called a blog
    - If someone told me I was going to write a personal blog a few years ago I would’ve laughed but I’m so happy that I did! It is an amazing feeling to have people from around the world comment on my thoughts. Every morning I’m so excited to check the blog an emails as there is always something new and exciting happening!
  19. Buy a sail boat and learn to sail
    - My parents did this when I was only a few years old. We sailed for a year (on the day) from Sweden, along the coast of France, Portugal and Spain. I really want to do the same thing as I can see the excitement in their eyes whenever they talk about it.
  20. Learn how to photograph professionally
    - Well, I’m not exactly a pro but when more than one person have asked me what photographer I used for certain pictures that I took I feel I’ve mastered it. Hopefully I will get even better as I love framing the memories!
  21. Spend 24 hours alone in the jungle
    - I’m not sure if I will ever actually do this, but imagine what an experience…
  22. Find your version of “The Beach.”
    - I went searching and I found :)
  23. Enjoy a freshly rolled cigar in Cuba
    - I have “enjoyed” one I Mexico which isn’t too far away but it’s not the same as the real thing. We were supposed to go to Cuba during Christmas but decided not to as Cuba probably isn’t the best place to visit for Christmas.
  24. Skydive
    - What a feeling it must be..
  25. Participate in the world’s biggest water fight during Thailand’s New Year’s festivities(Songkran)
    - I’ve heard great things about Songkran and I love Thailand!!
event19371 Question: What is on your bucket list of things to do in life?
  26. Celebrate christmas in a different country without family
    - This is one of those experiences that makes one slightly more independant. It also helps you really appreciate family and to not take anything or anyone for granted as compared to those who doesn’t have any family to celebrate with.
What is your bucket list of things to do before you die?

I love sushi/sashimi and have been craving it all day so when dinner time finally came around there was no question about what to have. Yum, so delicious and yet so healthy! I’ve also fallen completely in love with a tv-serie called Revenge, have you seen it? I’ve been hooked ever since a sweet reader (thank you!) told me about it, and now James is hooked as well. I would describe it as a slightly more grown up and action filled version of Gossip Girl. Crimes, secrets, undercover, high society, love, drama, designer clothes, friendships, fights.. you know ;) If you haven’t already it’s definitely a tv-serie you should check out which is worth your spare tv/sofa time!

As we’re watching this there are so many comments coming in, both really sweet and some not so nice. I know that there are a lot of things many of you are very curious about, and I knew that I would be very uncomfortable as from past experiences with question sessions, yet I still get so surprised by the rudeness of some of the questions. I guess one can never really be fully comfortable with certains things no matter how many times it occurs. Thankfully there are a lot of really nice and sweet comments as well which means so much to me <3

If you haven’t asked your questions yet, be sure to do so here. I will close it tomorrow :)

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day!! I’m about to fall asleep on top pf the keyboard so I will dive straight into bed!!

nice Saturday in Nice

Had a lovely day in Nice today while looking for some furniture things. It’s nice to get out of little Monaco to experience a buzzing city sometimes. Now I have to hurry to get ready. We are going out in only 15 minutes!! :O

Hope you’ve had a lovely Saturday, I will answer all your comments from last post tomorrow! :D

Since you liked the celebrity dress post I did so much I though I would do another post with some amazing dresses I found. I think that it’s clever to stay away from the all over sequin dresses in only one colour as you will without a doubt not be the only one wearing that. Go for something different and be the prettiest and most well dressed girl at the party! :)

Patterns:

shell Dress shoppingI love the honey comb pattern on this and the fact that the whole dress is covered in beads makes me want it even more!! I love how the edge on both the bottom and sleeves are following the pattern, and the stunning v on the back. Absolutely fabulous! I found it here with free worldwide shipping.

Perfect for the metallic trend! I love how the pattern wraps around the body making it feminine yet edgy. Super cool! I found it here.

lala Dress shopping

How cute is this?? I love the bows :) I found it here.

Long arms

Having some length on the arms is a plus for me as it’s nice to have the arms covered while standing in the cold watching fireworks :)

sequin Dress shopping

This dress is unbelievably gorgeous! I love the effect on the bottom which makes it stand out of the crowd from the all-over sequined dresses in one colour. This is a special piece, no doubt about it and I could easily see my self wearing this on new years eve. Such an elegant V on the back. I found it here with free worldwide shipping.

Untitled 31 Dress shopping

Another stunning sequin dress that stands out from the all-over sequin dresses which would be perfect if you normally go for a black dress but would like some extra oomph. I found it here with free worldwide delivery.

These are all made of the same fabric, 1% spandex, 9% nylon and 90% rayon, but one is “fake” (not Hervé Léger). The gold is from Forever Unique/Nelly, the black one is on sale (60% off ) and the silver one is full price.

EDIT: The black one is sold out, but there are more stunning Hervé Léger dresses here.

I wouldn’t normally write about a fake Hervé Léger, but because I’ve had so many questions about my Hervé Léger dresses I thought I’d drop a line about the dress from Forever Unique as it’s sold in a safe online store as opposed to other fake Hervé Léger dresses. It’s not cheap, but that is because of the amazing fabric so for what you get it’s unbelivably cheap but then again it’s not the real thing. If you want the real thing and have been wanting it for a while and you just have to have one then the black one is as good as itcan possibly get, in fact I just bought one my self :)
