Eyebrow Tutorial – how to get beach friendly brows

I’ve been asked to do an eyebrow tutorial for the longest time, but because I’ve been struggeling to find brow products which stay put during the summer season I have been postponing it a bit. I have finally found some products I really like and because some of these products are waterproof they work well for the beach as well. Yay!

The importance of eyebrows are often underestimated. You can’t really understand the importance of great eyebrows and how much they frame your face until you take them away. Just check out how some of the worlds most beautiful women would look without any eyebrows:

 Pretty scary, huh? ;)

How I do my brows:

1. I start by plucking underneath the brow, little by little. Don’t go too fast on this step, more is less. If your brows are sparse like mine, you need to be extra careful to not remove too much hair. Invest in a great tweezer as it’s terribly annoying to work with tweezers that can’t manage to pluck the smallest stubs.

The tweezer I use is by Fred Hamelten, and this little baby plucks even the smallest hairs. It has won prizes for being the best tweezer in the world, and I can agree on that. Doesn’t hurt that it’s shiny and pretty either ;) I got mine here.

2. I like to start by carefully filling in the sparse areas with a waterproof eye brow pencil (really great for the summer and beach time!). I apply it using small delicate strokes followed by carefully brushing through the brow with the brush that comes with the pencil. I then set the brows with an eye brow powder which gives an illusion of fuller brows. I apply slightly less on the beginning of the brow as I think it looks more natural that way. I still like the brow to have that nice square-ish shape though, so I have a little trick up my sleeve for that issue which I will tell you about in the next step.

Both products are by Billion Dollar Brows. The brow powder is in the colour Taupe, which I apply with an angled brush from the same brand.

3. The secret trick I’m talking about is to apply a concealer along the edges of the brow. I just dot on some concealer and gently dab it in along the edges of the brow creating a square-ish shape on the inner part of the brow. This also makes the rest of the brow look cleaner and more groomed. Lastly I brush through with an eye brow gel to make sure they stay in place all day. The brow gel I use is also by Billion Dollar Brows.

Haha, I know! Me and a friend of mine from school were so obsessed with eyebrows for a while and “tried” lots of different brow styles, looking back at the pictures we both look so insane! I’m happy I’ve finally cracked the code to great eyebrows haha…

Hi Elo,

Thank you for reading my blog and to always comment, makes me happy :) I must say though that I don’t always know what you mean, as I don’t actually speak that great Spanish. Lots of love xx

Very very useful post, although I’m a high density brow owner, so there is much space for mistakes. Also, I find it hard to match my brows, especially near the nose, where it shows. Sometimes, I also trim the edges of the brows, mwuhahaha

Thank you for your post, and… how about a daily OOTD? I sure wouldn’t mind!

You are so lucky to have high density brows!! Matching brows is really hard, but remember that brows are sisters and not twins. Very few people have symmetrical brows, so don’t feel too bad about it. Trimming abit on the edges is a great solution, I do sometimes too :)

I would love to do a daily ootd as it makes me happy to hear that you guys like my style, so thank you for that. Only problem is I can’t always make James take pictures of me and I’m not brave enough to bring the tripod out on the streets and snap pictures of myself if you know what I mean ;)

OMG! The pictures without the brows are so scary and hilarious at the same time!
My eyebrows are very full so I don’t need to fill them in a lot but I have another problem…the hair of my eyebrows are too long and they don’t like to stay in place! So I do a little trimming at the edges and I use an eyebrow gel….always!

My hair is almost the same color as yours, so I wonder which color you’ve got on the brow powder and the brow pencil? :-)
And by the way, you look gorgeous!! Have a nice weekend:)

The pencil only comes in one colour, so that’s easy.. as for the brow powder I use the colour Taupe :)

I let my brows grow out a few years ago, now they want to go thin on their own some months. It’s amazing how much brows make us attractive. :) Celebs without brows is funny, and scary.
