Review of blushes from Nars Cosmetics

I discovered Nars a couple of years ago when several YouTube gurus were raving about the Nars blush called Orgasm which now has grown to a cult product. Firstly this is a name you tend to remember as it’s not the normal name of a beauty product. Secondly, they all raved about it even though they were completely different looking girls with different skin tones which made it quite interesting. It didn’t take long untill I ordered it, now 8 blushes and one highlighter later, this is one of my favorite brands of blushes.

The product:

One of the most prevalent misconceptions about the blushes from Nars is that they’re all shimmery and glittery, this is not at all the truth. In fact there are several blushes which are completely matte like Sex Appeal, Dolce Vita, Amour, Gina, Gilda, Mata Hari, Zen and Exhibit A.

Matte blushes is the way to go if you are struggeling with acne or big pores as the shimmery and glittery blushes will highlight any flaws like acne and big pores.

The reason why I think blushes from Nars stand out from the crowd is that the blushes are all highly pigmented with vibrant colours which goes on smoothly and even on the skin. Because they are so pigmented and vibrant the products not only lasts for a long time, but you also get to choose wheather you want a sheer or bright pop of colour. You’ll never come home with a blush from Nars that doesn’t show unless it’s really pale like the new Sex Appeal. Speaking of shades, another thing I really like about Nars is that they have a great range of beautiful shades which means that there is at least one for every woman in the world! I´m guessing you’ll find more than one that catches your eye!

The blushes I have does not have a weird smell either which I really like. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against a subtle nice smell like the rose smell of the blushes from Chanel, but I prefer to have non-smelling products for my face.

The packaging:

The blushes come in a fairly large rectangular pan which sits in a rubber textured case with a mirror in the lid. Thankfully they don’t come with one of those useless brushes inside. The design is very professional in a way as they are all black with Nars in capital letters on the front. Because of the design they are also very easy to store as they don’t have rounded lids or different designs. I don’t know about you but I’m definitely a sucker for things that can be organized neatly! Other than that they’ve been cleaver with the use of rubber as this works very protective of the product inside in case it would fall on the ground.

What I don’t like about the packaging is that the rubber attracts powder and glitter which makes them look very dirty after some time in a makeup bag.
