Hope you’re having a lovely Saturday afternoon? I’ve been curled up with Vogue while painting my nails red. I’ve been wearing grays and earth toned nail polishes lately and felt like having a splash of colour again and red is always a great classic :) If you’re looking for a great red nail polish I recommend OPI Vodka & Caviar – it’s the best! Another must have when painting nails is Seche Vite which is basically just a top coat, it dries your nails instantly which is good if you’re as impatient as me. Bye bye messy smeared nails :)
I’m wearing a very monochrome outfit today including the trousers I blogged about a couple of months ago. I’ll show you some outfit pictures later today! Now I’m off shopping for little bits and bobs for the flat, the story of my life it seems ;)

You have had so many fantastic posts, and I have missed them so much! I forced myself to take a break when I got back to school because I had to start classes and jump back into the opera we’re doing, so I have been deprived of your blog :( I think I’ll have to try out some of the yoga you posted. I’ve always been skeptical, but it looks like it could be very beneficial. You look great as always, and I hope you have been well minus that short bout of flu (which I hope was mild). I’m actually doing red nails today too, as they are supposed to be red for the show (and I now have an excuse to pay to get them professionally done :-P). I hope James found the “r” exercises helpful or at least entertaining. It looks like you are really settling into your London life and are thriving there. Have I missed the post where you talk about the great thing that brought you there, or are you choosing to keep that off of the blog (if you have chosen that option, I would not be surprised, as it really is your business, and we can be happy for you without knowing every detail)? As for that dress shopping I mentioned before the break, I may have found The One, but I’m going to look again when I go back home just in case (and the store even called to say that the designer would be in town for a show, so I could go back at that time). Sending you lots of positive energy to make up for not being a good reader the last couple weeks!

Thanks for OPI advise :), will try it at some point. I’ve just done mine in black for party with friends tmrw. Is the third bottle on the photo: CND Almond cutticula oil? If yes, it’s the best one! I like la vernis chanel nail polishes, there is one red-black, it’s really nice. And that blazer of yours, how could I miss it in a shop :(.

OPI sells my favorite red polish too, Big Apple Red. Despite all the cool holographic colors and glitters of nail polish that are out there, sometimes classic is best :)
By the way, I’m curious about the lipstick you’re wearing. It’s gorgeous- would you mind telling me what it is? I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick that won’t wash me out.

in your opinion does the Seche Vite make your polish peel off? a lot of times for me, quick-drying top coats seem to make the polish peel right off , especially after a hot shower. besides drying fast do you find it helps with chipping? i am using a Dior base and top coat and can’t get any Chanel polishes to last more than 2 days :(

I totally agree Yael! Seche Vite was completely useless on my nails. I stopped using it a long time ago for other reasons though: it contains formaldehyde and two other toxins – formaldehyde is “a chemical that is known to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm”. So I would definitely STAY AWAY from it!
You’re better off trying base/top coats from brands without these toxins (so called 3 free), ie Deborah Lippmann or Essie :) The CND Stickey Base Coat is also great! Good luck :) xx
