Fashion

Summer is really upon us today here in London and the feeling of walking around with bare legs is just so lovely after a long freezing cold winter. Sunshine does weird things with my body and I blame my scandinavian heritage for that. We are all lunatics when summer comes and we even dedicate a day each year to celebrate the light which happens to be this weekend when I go back to Norway. I can’t wait to celebrate the light and summer with people being just as affected by the summer as myself. Wearing flowers on my head (Swedish tradition originally) and something bubbly in my glass while sailing away on the glistening blue sea of the fjord. This year my little niece will experience her first St.Hans, and I can’t wait to see her again! She is seriously the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen, just like her mother,  and I’m not just saying that because she’s my niece ♥

When I wrote about my sale favourites of mytheresa, many of you asked if I could do a “expensive vs inexpensive – post” so here you are! Hope you like it :)

Even though designer sales certainly lets us afford something we wouldn’t perhaps have splurged on if it wasn’t on sale, it’s still very expensive! Fortunately there are cheaper alternatives which gives us the exact same style.

What I always do wrong in the sales is to get sucked in by all those amazing dresses, and I completely forget about all the clothes I actually need like jeans, trousers, t-shirts and jumpers. So my advice to both you and me is to not forget the practical items in the midst of all the beautiful dresses none of us actually need ;) Christmas presents is also something to keep in mind. A nice scarf, piece of jewellery or something pretty for your mother or sister perhaps?

I just noticed that Browns launched their summer sale too.. :O

IMG 9020 Humming Bird

Yesterday was lovely and it was weird seeing such a tanned face amongst the pale and grey faces in London! The weather is something I definitely miss about Monaco, but I have no reason to sulk as I have so many trips ahead of me this summer and I can’t wait! Next week I’m going home to Sandefjord to see family and friends and join the celebration of summer, sun, and light! It’s probably one of the best times to visit Norway, at least Sandefjord where I’m from! Shortly after I’m going on a holiday with my family and when I come home we have “magically” moved (James and Linus are moving while I’m on a holiday thehe) back to Monaco. I will have a few weeks in Monaco with my boys before a girl’s trip to Ibiza and that’s going to be awesome!! I love summer!!

My outfit yesterday:

I’m wearing:

T-shirt – Alexander McQueen HERE, find a similar one here.
Skirt – Asos HERE (available in both petite and ordinary)
Shoes – Nicholas Kirkwood HERE, find similar here.
Bag – Hermès
(+ clip in hair extensions here, more info about the type and colour I have here :D)

The skirt is really amazing, the details and sturdy feel of the fabric gives it an expensive feel which is always fun to find on the highstreet! When I saw it I was so excited that I managed to buy the petite version which fits ok, but it would’ve fitted better if it was slightly longer so I feel tempted buying the normal version as well. I think I’m going to do it! As a matter of fact, I’m going to go and purchase it NOW! :D

Hope you’e having a great day!! xx

IMG 8959 Sneak peek at tonights

Hey everyone!

The Cartier polo on Sunday was really nice (albeit freezing) and I have taken lots of photos I just haven’t had the time to get them uploaded yet. Tonight we’re heading out for dinner with a friend from Monaco and I thought I’d wear my new super fun skirt for the occasion. I will post more photos of the outfit tomorrow :D

Hope you’e having a great evening! Lots of love xx

Yesterday we attended polo in the park at Hurlingham park, and I’ve taken lots of photos for you. I can’t believe it’s been a year since last time, time flies by so fast! We were really lucky with the weather and lots of people in hats, furs and dresses had found their way to the polo.

Well hello there candy land! We ran late and skipped breakfast in order to make it in time and it was rather impossible to walk past the mountains of candy while our tummies rumbled.

Last year we attended the polo in the park in a very different way to this year. Last year year we had a box where we spent our entire time which was lovely, but it wasn’t exactly where the party was at. This year we got a table in the vip section of the vip section (weird, huh) of the club Mahiki and after a few bottles of champagne and a handful of jugs of Pimms it got pretty festive!

Today we’re off to the Cartier polo at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor and I’m actually typing this post in the taxi on our way there. From what I have heard it’s a bit more posh and proper so I don’t think it will end up like anything today. I’ve brought the camera of course ;)

Hope you’re having a great weekend!! x

You’ve probably noticed I’ve bought and linked to a lot of second hand and vintage items recently? For every new item that is made, there is a substantial carbon footprint left behind by its manufacturing, distribution, use and disposal. Carbon footprints are greenhouse gasses such as carbon (CO2) and methane which cause climate changes as they trap the heat from the sun and cause global warming. We have seen an increase in floods and damage all over the world. Clothing manufacturing isn’t the main source of damage, but for those of us with an interest in fashion we can reduce our carbon foot prints by sometimes buying vintage or second hand items rather than new items when possible. It’s a small measure in the scheme of things, but these small measures could have a huge impact if everyone changed them, so in the end it’s not so little after all. Are you environmentally conscious?

chanel coat chanel pink boy bag Carbon Footprints

My latest environmentally friendly purchases: Chanel coat and Boy bag. THIS bag is also beautiful.

Other small things I do in my everyday life, which I believe is easy for everyone to do, is:

measures carbon footprints reducuction Carbon FootprintsMy biggest fail is my flights and a fail it is. Flights are estimated to be the worst cause of the global warming. I fly more than most people but we’ve cut down on flights by staying in London over the winter rather than weekends in Monaco as we initially planned. I try to avoid flying unless it’s necessary which F1 Grand Prix wasn’t for me, but seeing my family and friends in Norway is. The point in reducing carbon footprints is that every change counts, even if you are only able to change 5 small things. Every little counts!

What are your thoughts on global warming and carbon footprints?

Topshop shirt dress flower necklace Flower Power

Wee-woopie-yay!!  I got a great package on the door from Topshop today with the necklace I linked to in the previous post and it’s beautiful! I also ordered a monochrome shirt dress in the same illusion style as the trousers I wore in this post. I reckon it will be great for wandering around the city during the summer!

You can find the skirt dress here, the necklace is unfortunately sold out :/

Now I’m rolling around on the sofa as a stranded whale while watching Britains Got Talent after having consumed a huge amount of food at Hakkasan in Mayfair. Hakkasan is a modern Michelin starred chinese kind of restaurant – brilliant! There are two Hakkasan restaurants in London, one in Mayfair and one in Tottenham Court Road. You can check it out here, although I would have to say that the menu descriptions doesn’t do the food justice, it’s always really positively surprising when the food arrives – maybe it’s intentional ;)

Hope you’re having a great day!! xx

Wow! Thank you so much for all your kind words regarding the interview. I’m completely overwhelmed, and so thankful to have such lovely readers ♥ I hope you’re enjoying the weekend? We’ve finally seen some sunshine in London today so I took Linus for a 2 hour walk around Hyde Park.. poor birds is all I have to say about that..

A “what’s in my bag” post has been requested for a long time, ever since I wrote the last “what’s in my bag”post, but that was a rather small bag so I thought I would share all the shizzle I’ve accumulated in one of the bigger bags I drag around. That’s where all the unnecessary clutter can be found – and I agree that’s more fun than the carefully selected content of small bags ;)

IMG 8442 Whats in my bag?

IMG 8385 Whats in my bag?

The bag: Céline Phantom croc embossed leather, large size. And pretty large it is! I needed a bag that could work well as a travel bag and hold enough for a weekend trip home to Norway (yes, I’ve actually managed to fit 3-4 days worth of stuff in this!), but also chic enough for using when out and about. The size is better shown in this photo:

I’m pretty sure you know what Evian is, but I thought I’d just include all of it anyway:

1. Evian
3. Pens

4. Moisurising organic hand sanitizer
6. Tissues

7. Miss Dior perfume sample
8. Naked Energy Bar
9. Poo bag :)

10. Hair clip
11. Iphone lenses
12. Mix of GBP and NOK

13. Monaco Telecom card
14. Louis Vuitton Agenda
15. Tampon

17. Plaster
18. Iphone

19. Dior purse
20. Passport
…the plasticy thingy by no.6 is a dog treat :)

I also carry the Canon 7D which is the camera I use, and it’s frickin’ heavy so if you know of a great camera to bring out and about I’m all ears!

IMG 8473 Whats in my bag?

Newest addition in my agenda: Girl’s trip to Ibiza!!! So excited! :D

hand sanitiser organic Whats in my bag?

Love this! Most hand sanitizers I’ve used in the past dry out the skin, whereas this is moisturising and kind to the skin. I found it at Wholefoods.

Untitled 1 Whats in my bag?

I love gadgets and these are a must have if you take a lot of iphone pictures, are you reading this bloggers and instagrammers? I found them on Ebay Whats in my bag?, great value. One is a macro lense which means it takes great pictures of details like text, rings or anything tiny you want a clear photo of. The other bigger lense is a fish eye lense which means you get ultra wide distorted photos – great fun! :)

IMG 8474 Whats in my bag?

As you know I wear a lot of high heels, and so I always bring my sole mates with me just incase my feet would get tired. I’ve written about these before, you can find the post here if you’re interested.

What do you bring with you in yours?? :D

IMG 8367 Red y for drinks

Bazinga! Now I just waved good bye to my boyfriend who is off to our home in Monaco for the F1 Grand Prix. I decided not to go this year as I’m not a massive f1 fan and I’ve been fortunate to already have experienced it, besides.. I don’t have the heart to leave Linus behind. Tonight I’m out for drinks and I’m tethering across the floor whilst juggling a hair iron, energy bar and lipstick. You know, I drink so rarely nowadays that 2-3 glasses is enough to make me all giggly – not much of a Norwegian viking ;) It hasn’t been a conscious choice not to drink, I’ve just found myself wanting to keep my body as free of toxins as possible. I guess it’s not too bad as I’m sure summer will bring plenty of drinks and a jolly careless Celina to go with them..

Anyway, here are some self taken snap shots of my outfit of the night with a little star appearance of handsome Linus. I hope you like it :)

79c8e955087aad2158255e2919124a081 Hermès Sale and Paris Guide

What if I told you Hermès has a sale? A MASSIVE anual sale!

WHEN: 26 June 2013
WHERE: Palais des Congres at Porte Maillot, Paris

I first heard of this amazing sale last year, right after the sale of course, I decided next year I will not let this sale go past me again. I wish I could tell you there are hundreds and thousands of Birkins and Kellys lined up half price, but unfortunately they are not to be found in the sale. However, scarves are said to be priced at a very favourable price (€175 I believe) as well as previous collections and accessories. Note that Hermès stamp the scarves on sale with an S and there are no gorgeous orange boxes with the purchases and the shopping bags are white. Be prepared for wild and vigorous shopping animals, I will be one of them ;)

Mini Paris Guide

Where to stay: I think one of the best value hotels in Paris is Radisson Blu Le Metropolitan Hotel, Paris Eiffel. It won’t restrict your shopping allowance and the location is good. If you’re looking for the ultimate luxurious place to stay I recommend Plaza Athénée which is near the Champs-Élysées and the Eiffel Tower, you can see some photos of the junior suite here and the suite Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City stayed in here. Whether or not you stay at the hotel I recommend the hotel bar for drinks, it has a lovely atmosphere and great drinks.

Where to eat: As for restaurants it’s almost hard to come by a place where the food is not good, Parisians really understand gastronomy. For starters, there are all the bakeries – those are ubiquitous in Paris! You can’t visit Paris without a bite of a pain au chocolat while gazing at stylish Parisians accessorised with a baguette under their arm rushing past. And lets not forget the macarons, a box of 8 beautiful pastel coloured macarons from Ladurée enjoyed with a loved one with the Eiffel tower in the background is something you will never forget.

paris eiffel pink macaron Hermès Sale and Paris Guide

What to see: We can’t visit a beautiful city like Paris without sightseeing. Paris is the most beautiful city I’ve ever been to, the architecture feels very strong and powerful with beautiful decorations. The Eiffel tower is obviously a must visit when in Paris – wear shoes for walking and be prepared for long queues and don’t forget your camera. While shopping in Champs-Élysées, take a break and look for the Arc de Triomphe where a trip to the top gives you one of the best panorama views of Paris including the Concorde Square located in the other end of Champs-Élysées which might be the most beautiful place in Paris and also worth a visit. My favourite is Saint Chapelle on the Ile de la Cite which is an amazing chapel built in 1242 where it is thought that the crown of thorns was kept by Louis IX and on a sunny day it is like standing inside a treasure chest.  Lastly, The Louvre Museum is a must when in Paris! Even if you’re not a massive fan of museums it’s still fun to get a glimpse of Mona Lisa, right?

Now book your ticket or bookmark this page for future reference :)

Have you been to Paris?
