My Home Office

Hi Everyone!

Hope you’re having a sunny and wonderful day! I’ve spent my day in my new little home office and it feels incredible to finally have some organisation in things. I’m a big organiser by heart and the most difficult thing for me in the midst of all this moving and travelling all the time has been not be able to have an organised desk. I’m totally serious. It’s like every little stress chromosome in my body is at ease and it’s all just flowers and rainbows now.. *she says while smiling her widest*

I’ve gone for a really budget friendly solution, and I’ll tell you where I got every single thing so read on.

The desk is found on Ebay (!), you can find it here My Home Office . It’s actually a dressing table console, but it works beautifully as a desk too. I like versatile items as I tend to reorganise quite a lot and it just gives more options if items are versatile. Change is always good! Same seller has another table which is more of a desk too, so have a look through before you order.

Besides being happy about having a very organised desk I had a minor traumatic shopping experience today. It started out with frantic credit card searching as I spotted a newly arrived beautiful Vintage Hermes Constance on Vestiaire Collective. A bag I’ve been coveting for a really long time. In standing position whilst clenching every single muscle in my body in utmost concentration and typing the numbers as fast as I possibly could, I finally got there first! I WON the amazing Hermes Constance bag, and a win it was as the price was under half of what it’s normally sold for despite being in good condition. 30 minutes later after having completed a mandatory happy dance I went back to the computer to yet again admire my new beauty and I was just totally aghast to find the bag had been sold to two people at once, and I LOST!!!! Aaahh, the agony. But I refuse to take it as anything but a sign something better will come along :)

Parfum de Maison by Ladurée Paris

Yesterday the builders finally came and finished half the closet, and I’m so excited I just have to show you some pictures before I head out for dinner! The shelves with shoes and bags are now connected to the wardrobe and they’re positioned in a an angle which works so well for the room! I couldn’t be happier!! They will come back again tomorrow and add the final shelves between the units on the long wall and add mirrors to the wall behind me when taking the photo below.

I wish you could be here to really see it, and smell it! Yes, I said smell. I got a wonderful gift on the door some time ago with two bottles of Parfum de Maison by Ladurée Paris. The bottles come with a traditional little squeezing bulb with a tazzle in the end – utter Paris glamour!

The green bottle I got, named Délice, smells like a divine dream of sweet heaven. I can’t put my finger on what it is, but is smells sooo good!! Ladurée knows exactly how to describe it:

Délice » is a marshmallow perfume, a nostalgic fragrance, dedicated to childhood in the prime of youth. The recollection of the lady at the sweets’ shop with marshmallows of all colours displayed in big jars made of glass, from where sweet and soft fragrances emanated. “Délice de Ladurée” is a touching and light perfume, both indefinable and irresistible. A scent of unforgettable childhood.

I also got a white bottle named Amandine which I instantly knew would be perfect for the kitchen! It smells of the sweet almond paste (Norwegian: mandelmasse) used in the Swedish pastry “semla” which is a big favourite of mine! Ladurée describes it like this:

A home fragrance with sweet notes of almond. “Amandine” is a marriage of round and sweet notes with green notes, mixing both country smells and sweet pastry aromas. An exquisite perfume for the house.

The perfumes was sent to me by a Norwegian online store which you can find here. I have no idea where you can find it if you don’t live in Norway other than in Ladurée shops. Worth the hunt though!! The boxes are a jewellery itself, it looks absolutely stunning and super chic on the shelf ♥

Now I really need to put the computer away as I have an incredibly impatient boyfriend lying on the floor with his jacket and shoes on ready to hit the restaurant, I just wanted to pop by and say hi and show you the progress on the closet. We’re trying one of the sister restaurants of Amaya tonight, the one we went to yesterday. I can’t wait!! Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday!! xx

Sneak peek on the walk in closet in London

Good evening lovelies,

Just popping by to show you some details of the new walk in closet in London . The shelf units are up and instead of having bags on one side and shoes on the other like in Monaco I decided to mix it all up and divide it up into colours and styles with little jewellery pieces in between, and I’m quite pleased with how it looks like. I think it looks much neater and every piece gets the attention it deserves rather than a load of shoes or bags in one place. I might change it around at some point (I tend to do that as you well know if you’ve read my blog for a while), but for now it will stay like this :)

Exclusive preview: Holland Park

Hi everyone,

Yesterday we went to Holland Park to see a a property that one of James’ companies are developing. It’s still not released on the market and they were still working on the finishing touches while I was there. Such amazing inspiration!! I didn’t bring my camera so the pictures are taken with my phone, sorry about that.

There were also an aquarium wall by the entrance which was amazingly beautiful, and next to the living room there was a home cinema which was where all the workers somehow seemed to find a reason to work in so I didn’t get to take a photo of that room. There were also a couple more bedrooms with on suite bathrooms and a balcony but this should be enough to give you a feel of the flat. Amazing isn’t it??

Now we’re off hunting for similar furniture for our flat, weeeee :D Hope youre having an inspirational Saturday! xx

Interior inspiration & contest winner

Hi everyone!

Hope you’re having a great weekend and that you’re enjoying every last bit of it :) I’ve spent the last 48 hours in bed with headache, tummy pain, dizziness and fever. Turns out I didn’t drink enough water while driving through France so now I’m dehydrated. It really freaks me out as I was dehydrated in Bali once and fainted while on shopping. When I woke up I was so dizzy and I kept loosing my sight. The actual fainting wasn’t that bad but being completely blind for 15 minutes without knowing what was going on was the worst feeling I’ve ever had. You’d think I’d learn to drink water…

Anyway, while in bed I’ve gone crazy on Pinterest and I’ve found tonns of inspiration for the new flat in London. Since you asked if I could share the decorating process I thought I’d share some of my favourites :)

BEDROOM DETAILS

Hi beautiful ♥

Hope you’re having a lovely Monday and start of the new week? Linus and I woke up super early again, this time it was because of builders noise from upstairs. Gah.. pain! We’re not letting that ruin our day though because today James comes home from L.A, and I can’t wait to see him! Thursday I’m back at being a grass widow again though as he’ll be travelling to Asia for another week. Thank God we have Facetime!! Do you ever use it? I used it for the first time last week – super fun!

Pillows, pillows and pillows ♥ I love having lots of pillows in the bed, and right now we have 10. James thinks 10 is enough, but can you ever really have enough pillows? I could easily throw in a couple more :) How about you?

Miss Bossy

Hi sweets!

Thank you all so much for your get better comments, you are so sweet!! ♥ I think I must have the best readers in the world and you know what that calls for… group hug!! :D

I always find it so annoying and uninteresting to read posts about how ill a blogger feels, so I thought I’d spare you for that one, hence the slight absence this weekend. I feel much better now though, so this week it will be much more fun around here :D

After having completed my top 3 tv-shows (The Vampire Diaries, Revenge (such a good season finale) and The Lying Game), my mind searched for something else to keep me out of the boredom with and of course I ended up with my favourite thing to do – reorganise the flat! I don’t know if it was the creativity that didn’t get its outburst through the blog or if it was the pills that did their magic, but the ideas were flowing around like a thunderstorm and finally we’ve found a solution to our most troubled room – the office/spare bedroom.

Normally the reorganising happens late at night after a few glasses of wine when James is away on business trips, but this time I was in bed pointing and bossing James around. Quite amusing I must say. As mentioned the result is magnifique so the important thing to take from this is that me pointing and him moving stuff around is the best way to go ;) (Incase you didn’t get it, I’m only joking!)

Our problem with the spare bedroom/office has been to find a solution on how to fit the sofabed, which needs space to easily unfold when needed, while still having enough space for two desks with computers and all that comes with it without blocking the balcony doors and the view. We ended up taking a console table as an office desk which is long enough for two computers, but still narrow enough for the sofa to unfold. Brilliant, huh? :D

I’m planning on putting up a big mirror above “the desk” so that we still get to look at the view while working as we’re now facing the opposite direction. The coffee table and the dining table which we’ve been using as desks untill now have been given to a very happy cleaner, so all we need now is a new coffee table that fits this room perfectly. Of course I have just the perfect thing in mind, I just need to find it. I’m looking for a tufted ottoman like this:

I am also planning on having 5 different old looking wall clocks above the sofa which tells the time for which ever countries James need to keep an eye on. The French provincial style furniture is impossible to find in France, but a quick google search shows it’s pretty easy peasy getting it everywhere else. Isn’t that strange? I am on a mission and I won’t quit untill I have it :D

Sneak peek into my home ♥

Good evening beautiful!

Here is as promised a little sneak peek into my home. I’m sorry it took such a long time, I’m not used to taking these kind of photos – but it was a lot of fun! Bare in mind that we’re still not finished decorating. We still need art (haven’t even hung up the two we’ve got yet), plants and flowers and carpets, and we’re also awaiting a delivery from the US (which is finally shipped and will be with us in just a few weeks!! :))

Needless to say, this is my favourite room. James and I have separate dressing rooms, so his dressing room is in the end of the hallway, but I won’t be taking you there today. Turning towards the other side of the hallway and crossing through the entrance hallway we find the dining room/lounge.

The black chair is being swapped for a cute and cozy one in the same beige colour as the ceiling light. We’re also looking to swap the dining chairs, but haven’t found any we like yet.

Please ignore the very empty walls… :) I’m picturing a huge art piece just above the sofa, and as for the other side I’ve planned to put a huge 5-foot wall clock we’ve got coming from New York. SO pretty!!

This cute little thing I found in Dubai, perfect for storing bottles of yummy red wine ;)

The tv is going onto the wall unit, we’re just waiting for the right arm thingy to hook it up to. The coffee table we’ve decided to put a glass top on instead as we feel it might be a bit too heavy with this tree table top, what do you think? I can’t wait for all the decorations and furniture to arrive from New York!! Will be so much fun to show you before and after pictures!! :D

I’ll show you the rest of the flat another time. Need to get some sleep before my family arrives tomorrow, sooo excited!! My mum has been here before, but my aunt has never been so I’m taking them all on some sightseeing and of course I will bring the camera as well so you can expect a lot of sightseeing photos this weekend.

Under the light of Diamonds!!

Do you remember we were in Cannes to find lights for the apartment? Well, now they are finally up and I’m so incrediebly excited! Can you believe I have diamonds in the ceiling!! Whoaaaaa :D You won’t believe how long it took me to convince James in the shop by the way! He has admitted that the lights does look incredibly pretty though :)

The way the light shines through is unbelivably beautiful and unfortunately impossible to capture on camera, but I gave it a shot anyway simply because it’s too beautiful to ignore.. It’s like the light dances around the diamonds in a sparkling motion, magnificent!! *girly happy screams while clapping hands and all that nonsense*

I won’t bore you with the rest of the lights as James has already warned me that this might not be as exciting for you as for me, but I just had to do a post about some of them as I did promise to show you them back when we bought them. And I share everything with you <3 You’ll see the rest of the lights once the apartment is fully decorated.
