makeup Makeup Tutorial: Smokey eye using the Naked Palette 2

About time with a new makeup tutorial, don’t you think? I wore this look some time back and I got lots of compliments for it, and since all the eyeshadows were from the “Naked Palette 2″ I thought I’d share it with you as I know many of you have this eyeshadow palette. If you don’t have it you should check it out as it’s a really verstile palette with great quality eyeshadows. I found mine here.

urban decay naked palette 2 Makeup Tutorial: Smokey eye using the Naked Palette 2

I have used FOXY, BOOTYCALL, PISTOL, VERVE and BLACKOUT :) If you don’t have the palette, you can of course use other similar eyeshadows to create the look. Just make sure the black eyeshadow is pigmented enough. For makeup brushes, turn to these brushes for inexpensive and good quality makeup brushes.

pic1 Makeup Tutorial: Smokey eye using the Naked Palette 2

1. Start with a good base. I like to use this primer, it’s the best for holding the eyeshadow in place all night. Lines of sweaty eyeshadow is never a chic look ;)

2. Gently pat on PISTOL all over the lid except for the outer corner and the very inner corner. Don’t bring it higher than your natural socket line, where the bone is.

pic2 Makeup Tutorial: Smokey eye using the Naked Palette 2

3. With a different brush, gently pat on BLACKOUT to the outer corner. You can bring this slightly higher than your natural socket line as it will make your eye appear bigger.

4. Bring the eyeshadow underneath your eye as well, but only to the outer corner of the under eye lash line. You want the lashline to be in line with the end of your eyebrow, same rule applies to eyeliner ;)

pic3 Makeup Tutorial: Smokey eye using the Naked Palette 2

5. Use the same eyeshadow as before, PISTOL, underneath the eye as well and blend it out downwards. Apply FOXY with a fluffy brush on your brow bone and around the eyeshadow to get rid of any hard lines, we want the transition from eyeshadow to skin to be smooth. Apply a little bit of Boothycall just underneath the brow to make your eyebrows appear higher up and cleaner.

6. Apply the silvery colour, VERVE, to the inner corner of the eye as this makes you look more awake which is important when you do a smokey eye with black. Lastly, apply eyeliner and mascara – and you’re ready for an eye gazing night :)

Skjermbilde 2012 03 09 kl. 18.58.17 Makeup Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

I’ve had so many requests for makeup tutorials using this amazing palette, but I wanted to wait a little bit to make sure everyone had a chance to get it first to avoid pissing someone off. Yet again makeup addicts around the world wipes out the shelves at Urban Decay and the palette is gone for months. If you haven’t already, make sure you score one here as I’m sure it won’t be in for long.

1. Start by applying a primer to your eye lid, this will prevent your eyeshadow from creasing. I like to use Urban Decay Primer Potion. Once the primer is set I washed on a layer of Foxy which will make it easier to blend the colours later on.

IMG 7308 Makeup Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

2. I then used a blending brush to blend Tease into the crease (wow, that rhymed, I wonder if they did that on purpose). When blending, it’s better to add shadow little by little and wipe the brush back and forth until your arm hurts. If you make a mistake and bring it up too high the best solution is to go over with Foxy again to dilute the colour. What ever you do, don’t use makeup remover as this will make a horrible line which is impossible to correct later on.

IMG 7309 Makeup Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

3. Using a flat brush I added Snakebite to the outer half of the eye lid. Because the shadow is farely shimmery I find I get the best result with pressing the eyeshaow on rather than using wiping motion. This prevents fall outs as well.

IMG 73111 Makeup Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

4. Using the other side of the same brush I added Half Baked to the inner half of the lid. I used the same pressing method here as well. To get a nice transition between the two shadows, you can wipe the brush carefully back and forth just there.

IMG 7313 Makeup Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

5. To open up the eyes I like to use a light colour in the inner corner. For this look I chose to mix Verve with Bootycall as I think the two together makes a pretty neutral highlight colour. I used a small rounded tapered brush for this.

IMG 73161 Makeup Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

6. On the inner half of the lower lid I continued with the same colour as I used in the inner half of the upper lid, Half Baked. I applied it using the same pressing method as mentioned above with the same brush as before.

IMG 73171 Makeup Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

7. Using Snakebite I connected the colour in the outer corner dragging if slightly further to elongate the eye. I also cleaned up fall outs and blended out the edges once more with Foxy using a big fluffy brush, this makes the over all look softer.

IMG 73191 Makeup Tutorial: Urban Decay Naked 2

8. Lastly I lined my upper lashline with a liquid eyeliner and finished off with mascara on both upper and lower lashes.

Finally, two hours after I started uploading it, it’s finally up! Hurry up watching it before Youtube decides to block it again, they seem to enjoy doing that with my videoes you see. Anyone know of any good triks to keep the videoes from being blocked (besides having no music, or cc music)?

Remember to change the quality to 1080p HD :D

I hope you enjoyed the video, and that you’re having a lovely Thursday evening! :D

The beauty trend this season follows the feminine fashion trend, and I love this!! It’s all about being sweet, girly and innocent with healthy skin, pink cheeks and curled lashes. This is a look that is flattering to everyone, and it doesn’t take much time or effort to achieve.

Healthy glowy skin

If your skin is dry and dull, aim for products that gives you glow and a dewy finish. If your skin is oily and shiny, aim for products that are oil free and minimizes pores. You need a primer to keep your makeup in place, a foundation or tinted moisturiser will even out your skintone.

Dry/normal skin: Primer HERE,Tinted moisturiser HERE // Oily skin: Primer HERE, foundation HERE

Brighten your under eye area to make your eyes look bigger and more awake, this will also make your face appear younger and more youthful. Don’t apply the under eye concealer under your whole eye, but focus it on where you actually have a darker colour which is normally just in the inner corners and down like shown in the picture below. Don’t forget to set the under eye concealer with a lightreflecting concealer powder, this will prevent creasing throughout the day. An under eye concealer like the Touche Eclat can be used for so much more which can have dramatic effect on your face if you know how to use it.

Applying a hint of a more shimmery highlighter to the cheek bones will enhance those modelesque high cheekbones and give your face more structure. A little goes a long way, I like to apply it just on the top of the cheekbones. If you have very oily skin you should stay away from shimmery products and use a light matte product instead like a foundation in a lighter shade than your skin.

 Pink Cheeks

A flush of pink in the cheeks is what gives the innocent fresh look. Be sure you place it in a flattering way for your face shape. Creams works really well for dry/normal skin and will look more natural on the skin, whilst powder blushes are more suitable for oily skin as they will stay put longer.

Lips and eyes

This season it’s up tp you what you want to do with your lips, bold and fun colours are just as trendy as nude and bare lips. The perfect partner to lips in crime or a naturally innocent pout is beautiful curled dramatic lashes.

Nail it!

I love the idea of pairing nails with sunglasses, belts, shoe soles what ever the pop of colour it is, with all over neutrals like beige. Pastels are huge this season, but you can never go wrong with neon either :) Remeber to file down your nails (or make them pointy), long square nails with bright colours are not pretty. And if you’re still holding on to the very long square french manicure you might want to consider letting it go now as it’s not so chic with porn star nails anymore :)

Christmas is right around the corner which means the most festive season of the year has arrived. Why not try something different that brings all attention to the eyes with a sparkle of gold, and a cateye flick like Angelina Jolie is always seen with? It’s easy (only five steps) but still very glamorous and suitable for all eye colours and all occasions.

Untitled 14 Makeup Tutorial: Bronze with a sparkle of gold

1. Start with a bronze base. I used Mac paint pot in Indianwood which I applied on the lid and under the eye.

IMG 2667 Makeup Tutorial: Bronze with a sparkle of gold

2. Apply a very light brown colour to the crease to get an nice gradient effect, you can also apply a nude shade on the brow bone. I used Mac Cork and Brule.

IMG 2669 Makeup Tutorial: Bronze with a sparkle of gold

3. Apply a darker shade on the outer corner to create depth and blend it softly in to avoid any harsh edges.

IMG 2670 copy Makeup Tutorial: Bronze with a sparkle of gold

4. Apply a bronze colour on 2/3 of the eye leaving the outer corner where you placed the darker shade. I used Bronze from Mac. Then place a bright and sprakly gold just in the midle of the lid to bring light to your eyes. I used a golden dazzle dust from Barry M.

IMG 26771 Makeup Tutorial: Bronze with a sparkle of gold

5. Apply eyeliner, falsies (optional) and mascara and you’re done, the party can begin :) I used Loreal Carbon Gloss liquid liner, Dior Show mascara and Ardell Invisiband “Fairies” lashes.

IMG 18561 Makeup tutorial: Soft and Sophisticated Day Look

A lot of people don’t like autumn. I’m not one of them. I love autumn! You get to wear cozy clothes and read a good book surrounded by candles. You get to stay in without feeling bad because it’s raining outside. You also get to wear a little bit more makeup on the daytime as compared to summer. This tutorial features a very wearable look that will go for any eye colour and suit all kinds of occasions. It’s very subtle, but it gives you an illusion of natural beauty. Best of all, it doesn’t take you much time, you don’t need a lot of products, and it’s very easy.

1. Start with getting a bright and even base on your lid and under your eye. I’ve used Mac Painterly paint pot on the lid and Mac Select Moisturecover in NW15 under the lid to cover dark circles. Finish off with a wash of a nude colour over the base all over the lid all the way up to the brows, I’ve used Blanc Type by Mac applied with a Mac 224 which is a big and fluffy brush.

IMG 1800 Makeup tutorial: Soft and Sophisticated Day Look

2. Use a very light warm matte brown colour to contour the brow bone. Bring it quite far up and slightly outwards and up towards the end of the brow. We will go in with a darker shadow to contour even more later on, but now we just want a soft gradient effect. I’ve used Soft Brown by Mac which I applied with a Sigma E25 (same as Mac 217) which is my all time favorite brush for blending.

IMG 1804 Makeup tutorial: Soft and Sophisticated Day Look

IMG 1803 Makeup tutorial: Soft and Sophisticated Day Look

3. Take a brown shadow a smidgen darker (still a very light brown) and focus it on the area directly under the brow bone to make it stand out more and blend it carefully into the lighter brown to emphasize the gradient effect. Drag the brush across back and forth and apply a little by little. I use a very soft hand and only the tip of the tip of the brush for this. I used an eyeshadow called Cork from Mac and applied it with the same brush as I used for the lighter brown, the Sigma E25.

IMG 1805 Makeup tutorial: Soft and Sophisticated Day Look

4. Apply a golden shimmery shadow on the lid and in the inner corner.  Try to not get any of the shimmer into the matte brown shadows we have applied on the brow bone. I used Nylon from Mac and applied it with a Mac 239. Then apply a brown shadow along the lower lashline with a thin brush. I used 214 from Sigma (don’t remember the new number) to apply Mac Espresso.

IMG 1808 Makeup tutorial: Soft and Sophisticated Day Look

IMG 1809 Makeup tutorial: Soft and Sophisticated Day Look

5. Use a liquid eyeliner to line up your lash line flicking it slightly out. If you find it difficult I recommend using a pencil liner to line up first and then use the liquid liner to line up with, this way it’s easier to correct any mistakes. I used Loreal Super Liner Carbon Gloss in black.

IMG 1845 Makeup tutorial: Soft and Sophisticated Day Look

6. Apply false lashes (optional) and mascara. If you wish to make your eyes look bigger, you can apply a white/nude eyeliner on the inner rims of your lower lash lines. I used sweeties lashes from Ardell, DiorShow Extase mascara and Stila kajal liner in the colour Topaz. Tadaaa, you’re done:D

I made this makeup look before my first photo shoot as I wanted something slightly different and fun at the same time as it’s not too crazy and came up with this.

make up look header Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

I used:

IMG 0596 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

The first time I did the look (for the photoshoot) I used Mac Satin Taupe instead of Nyx Iced Mocha, but I dropped it on the floor a while back and I have forgotten to buy a new one. Iced Mocha is often referred to as a dupe of Satin Taupe, so I’m using that.

1. Start with priming your eye lids both above and under your eye, and do your eyebrows as you normally do.

IMG 05131 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

2. Place the jumbo eyepencil in Iced Mocha on the lid (or Mac Satin Taupe eyeshadow). Isn’t the iced mocha just gorgeous?

IMG 05151 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

3. Take a blending brush and apply some of Copperplate and Kid in the crease. I like to use Kid to get a nice gradient finish as it is a very natural brown shade colour but I chose to use Copperplate as well to make it slightly more smokey towards the outer corner.

IMG 05202 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

4. Take the same brush and apply a darker colour in the outer corner to give some more definition. I chose to use Mystery. If you need some inspiration for new daytime makeup looks you can stop at this point and apply one coat of mascara and you’re done. Super chic. If you’re looking for something more fun then keep on reading.

IMG 0524 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

5. To make the purple colour more vibrant it’s a good idea to use a purple base as well, I chose to use the Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Purple.

IMG 0526 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

6. Pack on the pigment Violet from Mac on top of the Purple JEP to make it really stick on.

IMG 0533 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

7. Line your lash line with a black creamy eye liner, I love to use Stila eye liners for these purposes as it is really long lasting and easy to apply. Make sure you really tight line the lash line so that you get a nice and intense eye.

duo liner Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

8. Take a pointy brush like the Sigma SS219 (don’t remember the new name!) and smudge out the lower lashline with a black eyeshadow so that you get a gradient finish from the black and over to the violet colour. Smudge a little bit extra towards the outer corner. Dab the colour on top of the line you made on your upper lash line so that the line stays in place for longer. Clean up any mess, and take a blending brush and blend out the violet colour with the light brown Kid eyeshadow. Apply some of Blanc Type on your brow bone for a more defined brow.

IMG 05491 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

9. Apply mascara (and false lashes if you want some extra pow), and you’re done :D

IMG 0557 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

IMG 0562 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

I’ve had a million questions about what lip product I used, and I’m sorry to say that it’s simply a clear plumping lipgloss from Dior (Maximizer).

IMG 0580 Makeup tutorial: The look of the header with metallic brown and purple.

I forgot the lipliner at home so I had to use my brow liner which worked perfectly fine for the photoshoot but I wouldn’t recommend it for anywhere else. The rest of my face is covered in lots of powder with a dash of Fleur Power from Mac in the apples of my cheeks as well as some contouring products which I’ll tell you all about some other time as it really is something that only works for photoshoots.

I hope you enjoyed the makeup tutorial. If you don’t like purple you can easily switch it out with turquoise, green or even a metallic copper or gold :) xx

IMG 9776 Tips for what tools to use for eyebrow grooming

I’ve had so many people asking me about how I do my eyebrows so I thought I might as well write a couple of lines about it, hope you find it useful :)

How to get perfect eyebrows:

  1. Study your eyebrows intensely in the mirror and note what differences you see (everyone has asymetrical eyebrows).
  2. Don’t try to get the same eyebrows as you have seen on someone else, work with what you have as that is normally what suits you the most.
  3. Pluck away hairs that are outside of the shape you like.
  4. Use a mini-razor for eyebrows to get rid of babyhairs that are too difficult to get with a plucker.
  5. Brush the hairs upwards in the inner half of the brows and cut very carefully the hairs that are longer than the rest of the shape.
  6. From the arch of your brow and outwards, brush your hairs downwards and cut the ends of the hairs that are longer than the others very carefully.
  7. Colour your eyebrows with permanent colour, I have written about how to do that here.
Remember:
  • Your brow should start from a straight line from the nostrils and the inner corner of your eye.
  • The highest point of the arch should be in a straight line from the nostrils and the outer corner of your pupil.
  • Your brow should end from a stright line from the nostrils and the outer corner.
  • Thick eyebrows makes you look younger, thin eyebrows makes you look older.
  • Very thin and high brows makes you look surprised at all time which isn’t very flattering for anyone.
  • Thicker brows is flattering for a very square or pear shaped face as the brows takes away some of the attention from the jawline.
  • Straight eyebrows makes your face wider, rounded eyebrows makes a square face softer, arched eyebrows will make a round face slightly longer and less round.
  • Set your eyebrows with a brow gel or wax after having brushed them, this will help them stay in place all day through blood, sweat and tears.
Who needs colouring?
  1. If you have very light hairs and fill them in with makeup everyday you might want to colour your eyebrows to save some valuable time in the morning. It also looks much more natural.
  2. If you dont’t have light hairs but very asymmetrical brows, colouring can help you minimise the difference as the colour tends to stain the skin a bit.
  3. If you have very sparse brows colouring can also help to make them look fuller.
Tip for colouring: Make sure that you only apply the colour to the shape you want as most of these colourings tend to stain the skin as well. Q-tips works perfectly to correct any mistakes while applying. If you have any left over product you can use this on your eyelashes :)

Products I like to use:

  • Kolokrem from Midelfart in ash brown. I have yet not found anything smiliar to this in Monaco, London nor online, so if you can’t find it either I know some people have some of the dye applied to the brows when going to the hairdresser.
  • Mini-razor: This little thing is incredible and I don’t know what I would do without it as it is a miracle worker for those stubborn babyhairs. Babyhairs are so thin that you won’t get the same stubbles as you get when cutting thicker hair. I got this from Madame Madeline.
  • Small Scissor: You can get these anywhere.
  • Plucker: A dear friend I have had for years and I have no idea where I got it from :)
  • For brushing I just use a clean brush from an old mascara, right now I’m loving the brush of the Dior Black Out as it was a terrible mascara anyway, but the brush is the best for this purpose :)
Do you know of any online stores that sell permanent colour for eyelashes and eyebrows?

I’m still really happy I’m reunited with my Naked palette from Urban Decay!! I promised you guys that I would do several makeup tutorials using the palette and in this tutorial I show you how you can get a club/night makeup with only using the Naked palette :)

Untitled 116 Naked in the Night Makeup tutorial with the Urban Decay Naked palette

palette club Naked in the Night Makeup tutorial with the Urban Decay Naked palette

1. Start with priming your eyelids with the mini primer potion that came with the palette. Make sure you get it underneath your eye as well. Take a flat brush and pad on the shadow called Gunmetal all over your lid. I’ve used a Sigma E 60 large shader brush.

IMG 9115 Naked in the Night Makeup tutorial with the Urban Decay Naked palette

2. Take a big fluffy brush and blend in some of Naked into the crease and a little bit above to create a smooth transistion from dark to light on the brow bone. I used Sigma E35 – large blending brush.

IMG 9135 Naked in the Night Makeup tutorial with the Urban Decay Naked palette

3. To get some play of light and to draw the focus to your eye – place Virgin on top of Gunmetal on the middle part of your lid, undernath your eye and by the tear duct. Virgin now turns into a beautiful light bluish metallic shadow.

IMG 9136 Naked in the Night Makeup tutorial with the Urban Decay Naked palette

4. Enhance this even more by blending Creep into the outer corner both on the lid and underneath the eye like in the picture below.

IMG 9143 Naked in the Night Makeup tutorial with the Urban Decay Naked palette

5. Next step is to darken the crease a little bit more by blending in Buck just in the crease (not as far up as Naked). My favorite blending brush for this purpose is Sigma’s small tapered blending brush E45.

IMG 9146 Naked in the Night Makeup tutorial with the Urban Decay Naked palette

6. Apply falsies, eyeliner and mascara and your finished :) I’ve used my favorite falsies from Ardell, Demi Wispies, and liquid liner from L’oreal and Dior Dior Show mascara.

Time to get Naked!!! :)

This is a shimmery brown gold and bronze look that I think suits most people and is perfect for the daytime when you want some makeup on your eyes as well but don’t want it to be too much. Bronze and golds are really pretty for summer and with slightly sunkissed skin and bright summery lips you are more than ready for a hot summer date! James repeatedly announced his facination wiuth this makeup look and has been swarming around me all day :)

bronze and gold eyes Naked in the Daytime Makeup Tutorial :)

I’m sorry some of the pictures are a bit blurry, I don’t know what happend but I’m guessing it might have something to do with the fact that I haven’t really found a good spot with enough light for taking pictures yet so the camera has difficulty focusing. I’ll try to find a solution so that the next tutorials are better.

All of the eyeshadows used in this tutorial are from the Urban Decay Naked palette and I’ve marked the shadows I’ve used with stars:

palette colours naked look Naked in the Daytime Makeup Tutorial :)

1. Start by priming your eye lid with the little primer potion that comes with the palette. You don’t need much and it’s only needed up to the crease and underneath your eye so this little container is going to last for a long time. Take a big fluffy brush like Sigma E40 and fluff on some “Naked” (soft matte brown) into the crease and a little bit above so that you get a soft transition colour from the crease up to the brow bone. Then take some of “Virgin” (light shimmery highlight) and fluff it on right underneath the brow and by the tear duct.

Naked Naked in the Daytime Makeup Tutorial :)

2. Use a flat brush to apply “Smog” (shimmery bronze brown) to the outer half of the lid. I used Sigma E55.

smog1 Naked in the Daytime Makeup Tutorial :)

3. Use the other side of the same flat brush to apply some of “Half Baked” (shimmery gold) on the inner half of the lid and blend them together to get a nice transition.

half baked Naked in the Daytime Makeup Tutorial :)

4. Take a medium sized fluffy brush and apply some of “Buck” into the crease but not as far up as you put “Naked” because we still want a nice transition. I’ve used my favorite brush E25 from Sigma.

Buck Naked in the Daytime Makeup Tutorial :)

5. Apply “Darkhorse” to the outer v with a small round pencil brush like Sigma E30 and put some underneath the eye as well so that the lower lashline is connected to the upper lashline. This gives some nice depth without being too harsh for the daytime.

darkhorse Naked in the Daytime Makeup Tutorial :)

6. Apply Half Baked underneath the eye between Virgin and Darkhorse to pop in some gold here as well.

smog under Naked in the Daytime Makeup Tutorial :)

7. Apply mascara and brown gel liner, and you1′re done :) (I’ve used lashes as well – had to try out the new lashes I got from Madame Madeline, these are called Sexies which I thought suited a Naked look ;) ) I kept it fairly simple on the rest of the face, just using a bronzer from Guerlain and a pink lipstick from Chanel. My hair is also quite simply styled, using only salt water spray to create a beachy wavy Serne Van Der Woodsen style ;)

In a lot of my makeup tutorials I use a really easy technique for getting a soft eyeliner which takes a maximum of 30 seconds to get perfect. This techinque can also be used for a simple and pretty daytime look whenever you want to use neutral colours or a pop of fresh colour to compliment your eye colour.

1. As always we start with priming our eyelid to make sure that the makeup will last all day. Make sure you get some on the outer corner as well if you want a winged eyeliner like Angelina Jolie. I’ve used Urban Decay Primer Potion.

IMG 8509 How to apply a perfect soft eyeliner in 30 seconds

2. Get your favorite gel liner and line your lash line. You can choose if you want it to end in the outer corner of if you want a little wing. If you want to wing it a little, make sure it’s at an angle with the outer corner of your eye and the end of the eyebrow. The great thing about this technique is that it does not need to be perfect, but do it fast so that it won’t dry before you get the chance to smudge it. I’ve used Bobbi Brown Black Ink with a E05 brush from Sigma.

IMG 8513 How to apply a perfect soft eyeliner in 30 seconds

3. Take whatever colour you want your line to be on a small brush and smudge out the liner with the eye shadow. You can use brown or black for a neutral look, or go for a colour that will compliment your eye colour. Since I have brown eyes I like to use green which brings out my brown eyes. I’ve used Humid from Mac with a E20 brush from Sigma.

double finish1 Makeup tutorial Tequila sunrise :)

I’ve done a lot of smokey eyes recently so I felt like something more fun and flirty and decided to do a look with gold, peachy-pink and deep berry – kind of like a Tequila Sunrise, James said ;)

There is no eye shadow colour that an eyecolour doesn´t suit, but there are some eye shadows that brings out certain eye colours. For green eyes it´s plums and reds, for brown eyes it´s greens and purples and for blue eyes it´s golds, bronzes and browns and I think this is a look that would be gorgeous on blue eyed blondes! I specify blondes because when you´re blonde and have blue eyes, you are normally quite pale as well and this colour combination will make you sparkle! But as mentioned above, this really is a look that anyone can wear – fun, flirty and shimmery :)

golden4 Makeup tutorial Tequila sunrise :)

1. Start with priming your eyelid. If you don´t prime your eyelids your makeup is going to end up underneath your eyes or smudged out all over the place. If you have very oily eye lids or are planning on a long night with lots of dancing I recommend using a primer like the Urban Decay Primer Potion underneath your cream base. My eye lids aren´t that oily so I´m only using Mac Paint pot in Bare Study, which is a really pretty golden shimmery beige and will enhance the gold eyeshadow we are putting on top later on. Put some underneath the eye as well. After priming, apply a matte skin toned eyeshadow on the brow bone – this will make it easier to blend later on. My favorite eyeshadow for this purpose is Mac Brulé.

2. Take a flat brush and apply a light gold in the middle of the eye lid. You will get a better result if you pack the colour on rather than brushing it on. Take also some of the same light gold eyeshadow and brush it into the inner corner of the eye, this will open up your eyes. I used a Mac 239 brush to apply AMC Shine 30 from Inglot, a really pretty gold from a brand that deserves much more attention than it gets. We are talking high quality at really low prices, the down side is that it´s really difficult to get a hold of most places in the world. This makeup addict sniffed it out in Dubai. Yay :)

3. Use a small fluffy brush to apply a fun pinky peach colour almost all the way to the outer corner. Peach and gold is such a beautiful combination! I used a Sigma E45 to apply Mac Paradisco. I also used a little bit of Cranberry in the outer corner which is a a deep berry colour that gives some nice depth to the eye with the peach and gold. The transition from light gold to peachy pink to the deep berry is beautiful and perfect for summer!

4. Put some underneath your eye as well. Gold in the inner corner, peachypink in the middle and a berry colour in the outer corner to meet up with the berry colour in the outer corner of the lid.

5. To soften it up take a big fluffy brush and blend in a soft brown to the crease. I´ve used a E25 brush from Sigma to blend in Kid from Mac.

6. Add falsies if you wish and finish of with mascara and a thin line of liquid eyeliner. If you are lookig for some extra oomph you can apply some glitter on top of the gold in the midle which gives a nice gleam to the eye . I used Midnight Cowboy Heavy Metal glitterliner from Urban Decay and just dabbed some onto the lid.

On my skin I used the very much loved Nars Sheer Glow which is the best foundation for covering up flaws at the same time as making your skin look glowy, healthy and natural. I use the shade Fiji which is something like a Mac NC25-30, if you´re more of a NC15-20 I recommend Deauville. These are the only two shades I have but if I get more tanned this summer I’m definitely getting another one and I’ve heard that Barcelona is supposed to be a nice colour for NC30 so it will probably be that one!

After I applied the foundation I brushed on some loose powder from Chanel, applied a “beauty powder” called Shy Beauty (LE) from mac as a blush and the highlighter part from the Mac Wonder Woman msf Pink Power (LE) on the cheek bones and finished off with a pink sheer lipgloss from Chanel.

Most of the brushes I use are from Sigma Beauty which you can get here. Most of the eyshadows i’ve used in this tutorial are from Mac which can be a bit difficult to get some places in the world but you can easily change some of these shadows to shadows from other brands like the eyeshadow duo Nars Hula Hula.

I hope you enjoyed it and I would be happy to recieve other makeup requests in the comment section!! :)

I´ve been asked if I can do a bronze makeup look which is quite fun because it is a sexy look that also can be worn in the summer because the bronze really brings out a tan without being too heavy on the eyes and it suits all eye colours as well!

Most of the makeup brushes I used in this tutorial are from Sigma which you can get here. Most of the makeup I´ve used is from Mac, but if you live in a place where it´s difficult to get a hold of Mac you should get the beautiful Urban Decay Naked palette. This palette contains all the colours I´ve used in this tutorial. I warn you that there might be a lot of raving about the Naked palette in near future because my Naked palette is on its way to me as we speak!!! :D

My eye lids aren´t that oily so I´m only using Mac Paint pot in Painterly today. Put some underneath the eye as well so that the shadow will stick better here too. After priming apply a matte skin toned eyeshadow on the brow bone, this will make it easier to blend later on.

2. Find a gorgeous bronzey gold eyeshadow you like and place it on 2/3 of the eye, you don´t have to be very neat about this because we will blend out the edges later on. If your eyeshadow is very shimmery or glittery you should apply it with a patting motion instead of dragging it across as this will prevent fall outs on your cheeks. I´ve used Lancôme 569 ( I think, it was very difficult to decipher) with a Mac 239 brush.

3. Take a fluffy brush and apply a dark matte brown on the outer corner and blend it into the bronze. The reason why you will want to use a matte colour is that you want to keep the highlight in the bronze and blending the bronze and the matte brown together will create a beautiful transition colour which is a mix of those two as shown in the image below. I used a Sigma E25 blending brush to apply Mac Brown Down.

4. Take a big fluffy brush and apply a soft brown to the crease blending upwards and into the matte skin tones eye shadow we started out with. The reason why we blend is to create a natural and smooth transition between the dark colours and skin toned colour on the brow bone. I´ve used a Sigma E40 to apply Mac Kid.

5. Take some of the matte brown you used in the outer corner and place it underneath the lower lashline. I´ve used a Sigma E20 for this which really is the best brush for this purpose no matter what eyeshadow you are working with!

6. To create an illusion of slightly bigger eyes you can apply a light shimmery gold eyeshadow in the inner corner of the eye by the tear duct. I’ve used Mac Rice Paper.

7. Use a gel liner to line the upper lash line. It doesn’t have to be very neat because we are going to smudge it out. If you want a winged eyeliner the line should be extended at the angle that the lower lashline curves towards the end of the eye brow as shown in the image below. When you´ve found the right angle you make it thicker on the outer corner. I’ve used Bobbi Brown Black Ink and I applied it with a Sigma E05.

8. Now smudge the liner you just made with a matte black eye shadow :) By smudging we get a soft eye liner which makes the look more smokey and sultry at the same time as it is far easier to achieve a nice and even line ;) This is also a great way to wear eye liner in the day time with mascara, only brown would look better in daytime. Take some of the black eyeshadow and drag it down to the outer corner of the lower lashline to connect the two lash lines.

9. Apply false lashes or just apply mascara. I´ve used Ardell 113 and cut them a little bit shorter because I felt they were a little bit too long. I also used Dior Iconic mascara. You´re done babe! :)

…. OR you can apply some gel liner along the water line to create an even more intense and sultry look.
