A reader asked me to do another “What’s in my travel makeup bag post” as it has been such a long time since the last post regarding this so I decided to do one very quickly last night so that you could have something fun to read while I’m driving to Sweden. Can’t say I’m looking forward to the drive as it’s so much wind that even the ferry sailings are cancelled. Please ignore the quality of the pictures ;)

IMG 1219 Whats in my travel makeup bag

Sigma SS134 – A big and fluffy brush which I like to apply powder with.
Sigma SS168 – An angled brush for applying blush .
Sigma SS165 – A small tapered brush which I use for contouring.
Mac 139 – I like to use this for highlighting.
Bobbi Brown blending brush – No other brush does the job og applying Benefit powderflage under the eyes like this one.
Bobbi Brown small angled brush – Love this brush for applying shadow to my brows.
Sigma E25 – Similar to Macs 217, the perfect blending brush which I always use no matter what makeup I’m applying.
A mascara wand from a Dior Blackout mascara- Perfect for combing through the brows to get a natural finish after having applied shadow.

IMG 12201 Whats in my travel makeup bag

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast – I use this as a primer on very dry skin and dried out spots to avoid a flaky finish to my faoundation. It gives a nice finish at the same time as it’s good for the skin. Yay!
Smashbox photofinish primer – I used picked up the first primer I saw which was this one. I like it, butI’m still searching for a better one.
BRTC BB Cream – Totally loving this stuff, review will come once I’m sure my skin is ok with it ;)
Kanebo Sensai Fluid finish in 203 – A really nice foundation which doesn’t break me out, I just wish they could produce more shades.
Nars Sheer Glow in Fiji – A foundation that covers really well, feels great and looks beautiful on the skin.

IMG 1221 Whats in my travel makeup bag

Mac LE msf in Lightscapade – A beautiful highlighter which is beautiful on winter pale skin (whilst Dior Amber Diamond is a beauty on tanned skin).
Mac msf natural –  This powder is a little bit pale for me still, but somehow this was the powder that I packed with me. Too pale is better than too dark after all.
Chanel blush in Reflex – A pretty peachy pink blush with gold reflects.
Nars blush in Orgasm – When nothing else seems to work, this always picks me up :)
Nars blush in Dolce Vita – I love this blush for accentuating the cheek bones. Beautiful on nights out!
Nyx blush in Taupe – This is my favourite product for contouring. Love, love, love this!!!

IMG 1225 Whats in my travel makeup bag

YSL Touche Eclat – I use this miracle pen under my eyes, along the bridge of my nose and above my upper lip.
Benefit Powderflage – I use this powder to set the concealer under my eyes to avoid creasing,
Mac Studio Finish nc20 – I use this on imperfections in my oilier parts of the face as it is slightly drier than most concealers.
Mac Studio Sculpt nc20 – I use this on imperfections in drier areas of my face.
Mac Moisturecover nw15 – I use this under my eyes if I have some serious dark cicles to get rid off. I also quite like to use it under my brows.

IMG 1223 Whats in my travel makeup bag

Lancôme Hypnôse Precious cells in brown – The perfect mascara for my lashes. I love the wand!!
Mac brow set in Beguile – Hairs I did not know I had suddenly appears making my sparse brows look fuller.
Mac brow pen in Dirty Blonde – I don’t really use this anymore, but it’s with me just in case.
Mac eyeshadow in Coquette – My go to eyeshadow for brows.
Mac eyeshadows: Brule, Dazzlelight, Cork and Espresso. Works for both day and night :)
Mac painterly paintpot – A cream base to keep the shadows in place
Loreal Super Liner – A really good and cheap liquid liner :)

IMG 1222 Whats in my travel makeup bag

YSL in #2 – Very pale on it’s own, but I like to use it underneath a creampuff to get a nicer concistency
Chanel in Aventure – Pretty pink colour.
Chanel #15 – My all time favourite lipgloss which has been taken out of production. Thank God I bought all I found when I heard it was going out :)
Collection 2000 Creampuffs – Really mousse like lipglosses with a matte result. Can be a bit drying.
Mac Bombshell – A very pretty sheer pink.

IMG 9776 Tips for what tools to use for eyebrow grooming

I’ve had so many people asking me about how I do my eyebrows so I thought I might as well write a couple of lines about it, hope you find it useful :)

How to get perfect eyebrows:

  1. Study your eyebrows intensely in the mirror and note what differences you see (everyone has asymetrical eyebrows).
  2. Don’t try to get the same eyebrows as you have seen on someone else, work with what you have as that is normally what suits you the most.
  3. Pluck away hairs that are outside of the shape you like.
  4. Use a mini-razor for eyebrows to get rid of babyhairs that are too difficult to get with a plucker.
  5. Brush the hairs upwards in the inner half of the brows and cut very carefully the hairs that are longer than the rest of the shape.
  6. From the arch of your brow and outwards, brush your hairs downwards and cut the ends of the hairs that are longer than the others very carefully.
  7. Colour your eyebrows with permanent colour, I have written about how to do that here.
Remember:
  • Your brow should start from a straight line from the nostrils and the inner corner of your eye.
  • The highest point of the arch should be in a straight line from the nostrils and the outer corner of your pupil.
  • Your brow should end from a stright line from the nostrils and the outer corner.
  • Thick eyebrows makes you look younger, thin eyebrows makes you look older.
  • Very thin and high brows makes you look surprised at all time which isn’t very flattering for anyone.
  • Thicker brows is flattering for a very square or pear shaped face as the brows takes away some of the attention from the jawline.
  • Straight eyebrows makes your face wider, rounded eyebrows makes a square face softer, arched eyebrows will make a round face slightly longer and less round.
  • Set your eyebrows with a brow gel or wax after having brushed them, this will help them stay in place all day through blood, sweat and tears.
Who needs colouring?
  1. If you have very light hairs and fill them in with makeup everyday you might want to colour your eyebrows to save some valuable time in the morning. It also looks much more natural.
  2. If you dont’t have light hairs but very asymmetrical brows, colouring can help you minimise the difference as the colour tends to stain the skin a bit.
  3. If you have very sparse brows colouring can also help to make them look fuller.
Tip for colouring: Make sure that you only apply the colour to the shape you want as most of these colourings tend to stain the skin as well. Q-tips works perfectly to correct any mistakes while applying. If you have any left over product you can use this on your eyelashes :)

Products I like to use:

  • Kolokrem from Midelfart in ash brown. I have yet not found anything smiliar to this in Monaco, London nor online, so if you can’t find it either I know some people have some of the dye applied to the brows when going to the hairdresser.
  • Mini-razor: This little thing is incredible and I don’t know what I would do without it as it is a miracle worker for those stubborn babyhairs. Babyhairs are so thin that you won’t get the same stubbles as you get when cutting thicker hair. I got this from Madame Madeline.
  • Small Scissor: You can get these anywhere.
  • Plucker: A dear friend I have had for years and I have no idea where I got it from :)
  • For brushing I just use a clean brush from an old mascara, right now I’m loving the brush of the Dior Black Out as it was a terrible mascara anyway, but the brush is the best for this purpose :)
Do you know of any online stores that sell permanent colour for eyelashes and eyebrows?

fav june Favorite products of the month: June 11

This month has gone by so incredibly quickly!! Why is it that it’s always the summer months that goes fast and not the winter months? During June I’ve found myself going for the “No Makeup- makeup” quite often which is very much reflected on the products. There are a couple of things that I’m still loving from May like hair products and products for feet and hands so I’m not listing those again, if you want to read about them you can click here. Let’s dive into it :)

nail polishes1 Favorite products of the month: June 11

Beige Petal from Chanel is surprisingly the nail polish I’ve been using more than any. I say surprisingly because it looks quite dull in the bottle at first glanze while in reality it’s a manicure in a bottle. Two coats of this and my nails look like I’ve spent two hours in the nail salon! It annoyes me so much that this polish has gotten so many negative reviews because people think that it’s supposed to be an opaque nude, but that isn’t the purpose of it! I’ve also had some fun with pairing jewellery with my nails in bright colours like Orange Fizz. So much fun for a silly makeup addict :)

eye shadows Favorite products of the month: June 11

As I mentioned above I’ve been wearing No-Makeup makeup a lot in the daytime but at night time I’ve been reaching for my favorite palette, the Naked palette from Urban Decay. My favorite shadows are probably Virgin, Sin, Naked, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Dark Horse.. ehm, well I think all of them except for Sidecar and Hustle are my favorites, not that those two are bad I just like them less I guess. If you don’t already have this palette, you NEED it!

base products1 Favorite products of the month: June 11

For No-Makeup makeup the base is the most important part. For the daytime I use Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Nude, Eve Pearl Dual Salmon concealer in light/medium under my eyes (review is coming), Mac painterly paint pot on the lids and Mac msf in Medium in the t-zone before I splash on the blush, highlighter and bronzer which are featured below. The Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Fiji and Urban Decay primer potion are being used for the night time. Nars Sheer Glow is my all time favorite foundation! The cover you get is amazing while your skin still look like skin and it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a mask like with other full coverage foundations. I also like that it’s buildable which makes it easy to cover up better where it’s needed while not using much where you don’t need it. There is no point in covering up nice skin :)

makeup Favorite products of the month: June 11

For the No-Makeup makeup look cream blushers are amazing because they melt into the skin and give you that true blushed look. I like to use Mac Lilicent which is a beautiful peach and sometimes I blend in a bit of Make Up Forever HD cream blush in #5.

Bronzer is also needed and I love the Guerlain 4 Seasons in Brunettes for contouring/shading purposes with a little bit of help from the Nyx Taupe blush (which I need to fix or buy another one of, knowing myself I’ll probably just buy another one) and the Sierra Bronzer from Chanel to have some glowy bronze going on. As a highlighter I’ve been using the Guerlain gold pot (don’t know the name) as I think gold looks so beautiful on tanned skin!

As always I use the Mac eye shadow Omega on my brows – the perfect shade for blonds! Since eye lashes gets sun and salt water damaged I like to use the Lancôme mascara Precious Cells in Brown (yes, my precious) which treats the lashes with some good stuff, I actally really like the wand as well!

make up brushes Favorite products of the month: June 11

I tried to pick ten favorites but I couldn’t..

  1. Sigma SS168 – For bronzing
  2. Mac 116 – For powder in the t-zone
  3. Inglot 6SS – For Benefit Powderflage which I’ve forgotten to mention… oops!
  4. Sigma SS222 – For transition eye shadows like Naked in the crease
  5. Sigma SS 224 – For applying shadows to the brow bone
  6. Sigma E25 – For blending
  7. Sigma E50 – For applying shadow to the lid
  8. Mac 239 – For applying shadow to the lid
  9. Sigma E45 – For precision in the crease like Buck
  10. Sigma SS219 – For applying shadow to the outer corner/ inner corner / underneath the eye
  11. Mac 214 – For smudging gel liner
  12. Mac 208 – For applying shadow to the brows
  13. Inglot 30T – For applying a thin line of gel liner (the fact that it’s bent makes it much easier!!)

What are your favorite products? Write a link to your blog if you’ve done the same post :)

When I look upon my favorites it hits me how fed up I´ve been with the dark colours of winter which must be the reason why I have subcounciously thrown myself into the summer look with bright colours on the nails, natural makeup and nourished hair and feet!!

Shu Uemura Essence Absolue - Hair oil // Kérastase Voile Nuit – Night treatment // Kérastase Elixir Ultime – Hair oil // John Masters Organic Treatment – Scalp treatment

I love hair oils and I like to mix the Shu Uemura-oil and the Kérastase-oil although I´m sure it´s enough to use only one of them but I like to use both just in case one or the other contain some good stuff that the other doesn´t have ;) Before I go to bed I spray my hair with the Kérastase Voile Nuit which nourishes the hair while sleeping and makes it super soft in the morning and tangle free. John Masters Organic Treatment is a scalp treatment that I spray onto the scalp after washing my hair to nourish my sensitive scalp. The fact that it gives me incredible volume doesn´t hurt either :)

Alexander Sprekenhus Argan Oil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner

These products are from a new norwegian brand and I received the products not long ago. I was thinking about putting some other hair products in here since I havn´t used the products long enough to really justify them being may favorites but I just couldn´t get myself to do it because I really love these products both for the amazing softness I get and for the wonderful smell. I think I will write a review about them soon :)

Thalgo Gel for feather-light Legs – Cooling and Decongesting gel // OPI Royal Verbana Scrub – Foot and hand scrub
L´Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream // L´Occitane Shea Butter Foot Cream

Neat and pretty feet are a must when going to the beach. I prefer to have someone else do my feet but obviously I need to do them myself once in a while and when I do I like to use the OPI Royal Verbena scrub on feet and hands for super soft and moistened skin. For periods with very dry skin I like to soak my hands and feet in cream and wear socks and mittens on top overnight to really let the cream soak into the skin.

After a long night on heels there are few things that feels as good as layering on some gel from Thalgo which gives a cool sensation that immediately relieves painful, tired legs! Every girl on heels needs this!

IMG 8166 Favorite products of May 11

The nail polishes I´ve used the most frequently on my fingertips are all from Chanel´s spring and summer collections while it is the beautiful bright pink Strawberry Margarita from OPI that has reigned on the toes.

IMG 81681 Favorite products of May 11

Aura by Swarovski Bodylotion // Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb // Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb La Vie en Rose

Flowerbomb has been a long time favorite and it still is and not surprisingly I really love the slightly more tangy Flowerbomb La Vie en Rose as well.  However, the star of the month is neither of them as I have completely fallen for a newcomer, the amazing Aura by Swarovski which my dear and sweet mum gave me when I was home In Norway. To be precise it is the bodylotion from Aura by Swarovski that has caught my eye and I have had several people sniffing me wondering what perfume I´m wearing each time I´ve used this wonderful bodylotion. Not only does it smell fantastic but it gives the most beautiful shimmer to the skin as well, hence the diamond. I´m in love, thank you so much my sweet and thoughtful mummy!! (Yes, my mum really is the best!!)

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre i 30 Naturel – loose powder // Chanel Bronzer in 22 Sierra // Chanel Eyeshadow Quad in Lilium from the summer collection -11
Mac e/s Omega // Mac e/s Coquette // Bobbi Brown Black Ink gel liner // Mac Paint Pot in Painterly // Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude

In the summer I like to keep my skin natural but still even and beautiful looking and this is where Laura Mercier reigns! Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer covers incredibly well at the same time as it feels light on the skin. Personally I would rather describe it as a light weight foundation because you´ll need a moisturizer underneath it but the coverage is really wonderful and I don´t need a concealer when I use it.

After I´ve let the cream settle I use a tiny bit of the loose powder from chanel in my t-sone to mattify this area and then I use some glowing bronzer to give some life to the skin. Omega and Coquette are both used as colours for the eyebrows but I sometimes use them as eyeshadows as well although it is the Chanel quad Lilium from the summer collection that has been used more frequently than any other eyeshadow this month.

Mac 208 // Sigma E20 (SS 214) // Sigma E15 (SS 212) // Sigma E30 ( SS 219) // Sigma E25 (SS 217) // Sigma E40 (SS 224) // Sigma F05 (SS 165) // Sigma F10 (SS 129) // Sigma F40 (SS 168) // Sigma F50 (SS 187)

Makeup brushes are just as important and this is what I´ve used this months favorite brushes for this month:

  1. Mac 208 – eyebrows
  2. Sigma E20 – smudge the gel liner for a smokey effect or a pop of colour
  3. Sigma E15 – line the gel liner
  4. Sigma E30 – place shadow in the outer corner and underneath the eye
  5. Sigma E25 – my favorite! I´ve used it for both placing eyeshadow and blending
  6. Sigma E40 – highlighting the brow bone and inner conrer of the eye as well as blending
  7. Sigma F05 – highlight the cheek bone or contour the cheek bone with a darker shade underneath the cheek bone
  8. Sigma F10 – powder in the t-sone
  9. Sigma F40 – bronzer
  10. Sigma F50 – blush
  11. Cleanser! How could I forget, I´ve used the brush cleanser from Mac quite a lot as well as it´s great to dry clean the brushes if you are in a hurry or use a different blush every day!

I think these are all of my favorites this month. I didn´t include the skin care products from Oenothera/Kremfresh as I think you´ve gotten the point by now ;)

What products are your favorites from May? If you have a blog I would love it if you also made a post like this and dropped me the link below :)

When I did a post about which brushes for the eyes I consider as most important to have some of you asked me to do one for face brushes as well so here you are :) I have to admit that it´s much harder to pick out the most important face brushes than eye brushes since there are so many factors to consider (what you like, what kind of makeup you use etc), but I am going to try to give you an idea of which brushes I think are better than others.

1. Foundation

It depends a lot on the kind of foundation you are using. Some foundations, like Nars Sheer Glow, I actually like to apply with my fingers while others all have their own “winning” brush. Basically I tend to prefer to apply thicker foundation with high coverage with my fingers as they tend to dry quite quickly. I find that if I use my fingers I can distribute it over the face more quickly, and then I might go over it with a small blending brush for eyes (Mac 217) to get more cover where needed.

I like to apply foundations with medium to high coverage that don´t dry too quickly with a Mac 131/Sigma F15 wich is a “Flat, tapered brush that contains a combination of short and long fibres” – Mac.

131 A guide to getting the right face brushes

This brush is actually ment to be for blushes and highlights, but I find that it works brilliantly for foundations as well. I use it with small sweeps and strokes to blend it in and it gives a very pretty result.

187 A guide to getting the right face brushes

When using a more light weight and liquidy foundation I like to use a MAc 187/ Sigma F50 (or a Mac 188/ Sigma F55 which is the same only cheaper and smaller) because the foundation won´t dry into the brush as quickly because of its consistency and it´s easier to blend it in with a round flat top brush than with a tapered brush like the Mac131/ Sigma F15. The result is an even and natural soft finish. I use it by firstly stippling the foundation around the face and then swirl it in. I do however advice you to swirl just a little bit more than you think is enough because the result is so much nicer and you´re sure to not have any streaking anywhere.

188 A guide to getting the right face brushes

2. Mineral foundation

If you´re using a mineral foundation the kabuki Mac 182/ Sigma F45 is obviously one way to go. Sigma does great kabuki brushes and I like the flat top for more coverage and the rounded for normal coverage.

kab A guide to getting the right face brushes

The flat top requires some work though. Sigma also recently launced three High Definition brushes ( F84, F80 and F82) which many people like. Personally I prefer the normal kabukis because I find it easier to get a nice and even result then with the HD brushes which eat a lot of product and are a little bit too dense to give that nice soft finish. Some people also like to use these HD brushes for liquid foundation, but this doesn´t work for me at all.

sig hd A guide to getting the right face brushes

The flat normal foundation brushes (Mac 190/ Sigma F60) are only used to apply face masks in my house. I think they are useless for foundation as it takes a really long time to apply and gives a streaky result.

190 A guide to getting the right face brushes

3. Powder

If you have an oily skin and need to use powder all over your face I´d go for the Mac 134/ Sigma F20 because it´s quite big and therefor reaches over a big area with fewer swirls. Not only does this save you time, but it makes it easier to get the right amount of powder as well.

134 A guide to getting the right face brushes

If you have rather dry cheeks or just like to put a little bit of powder in your t-zone I´d go for the Mac 129/ Sigma F10 as this brush is more or less the same shape only smaller. Since it´s so much smaller it´s obviously easier to apply more precisely in smaller areas like between your eyes without messing up your eye makeup. This brush is also nice to use for both blush and bronzers.

129 A guide to getting the right face brushes

4. Bronzers/ Sun powder

If you are using the bronzers to get a sunkissed look (not for contouring purposes) I´d go with the Mac 138/ Sigma F25. This is a quite big brush but it´s tapered on the tip which makes it easy to get to smaller areas as well. Because it´s tapered and round it actually does all the blending work for you because of the shorter hair on the sides. Brilliant brush! It´s also great for use on the body since it´s so big.

138 A guide to getting the right face brushes

5. Blushes

For liquid blushes like Benefit Benetint you are better off using your fingers as the liquid dries very quickly. If you´re not quick enough with blending it in you risk getting an uneven and spotty finish.

For cream blushes I actually like to use my fingers to apply the blush and then a brush like Mac 188/ Sigma F55 or Mac 131/ Sigma F15 to blend out the edges. Remember to apply just little by little instead of too much at once. It´s much more difficult to blend out a cream blush than a powder blush.

For powder blush I find my self reaching for the Mac 168/ Sigma F40, a medium sized angled brush. I like it because it gives an even finish and it helps with blending since the longer side blends it out for you as you apply. If you´re in a rush and get a harsh line it´s easy to blend out harsh edges with the longer side instead of having to use another brush. This brush also works great for bronzing, contouring and highlighting. Just like with the 217 blending brush I´ve actually lost track of how many I have of this as I use it for lots of different products.

168 A guide to getting the right face brushes

If you have a very pigmented blush like Mac Fleur Power or a blush with lots of glitters you may find it easier to apply the blush with a brush like Mac 188/ Sigma F55 as it doesn´t pick up as much product on the brush compared to other brushes.

6. Contouring

For contouring (using a matte powder in 1-3 shades darker than your skin) I prefer to use Mac 129/ Sigma F10 (medium sized blush brush) which is great for temples and Mac 165/ Sigma F35 (small round tapered blush) which is amazing for cheek bones. The Mac 165/ Sigma F35 is actually the same as the egg shaped Mac 138/ Sigma F25 only smaller. Remember to go over and blend out edges with a bigger clean/powder blush.

165 A guide to getting the right face brushes

If you´d like to contour your nose as well I advice you to go for a big blending brush for the eyes like the 222/224. Be very careful when contouring your nose, you don´t want obvious dirt on your nose ;)

If you´re wondering about what brush you should go for when using concealer I wrote a couple of words about it in this post about brushes for eyes. :)

There are some slight differences between the brushes from Mac and Sigma. I do prefer the brushes from Mac as they are better quality, but the brushes from Sigma are a third of the price Mac is asking for them and a lot better than brushes from other brands in the same price range so unless you´re a makeup artist you are more than ok with brushes from Sigma.

Sigma offers a package where you can choose which brushes you want to use to build your own kit. This is a genious way to go for getting the brushes that you need for the cheapest price possible. The price per brush ranges between $14 and $19 whilst Mac charges £22 to £36 on maccosmetics.co.uk (a little bit cheaper in US).

I hope this was helpful and please do ask in the comment form if there is anything I can help you with :)

To achieve beautiful makeup you need the right tools but which brushes are really essential?

Brands:

If you´re on a budget I would check out the brushes from Sigma as these are great quality for cheap prices. They ship them all over the world and help you to avoid paying customs duties. If you are more of a snob you should check out the brushes from Mac Cosmetics as these are, in my opinion, the best brushes there are.

There are two brushes that every woman absolutely NEEDS:

1. MAC 239/ Sigma E55

mac 239 The most important brushes for eyesSIGE55 The most important brushes for eyes

This eye shadow brush is soft and dense and is my favorite brush for applying eye shadow to the lid. It can be used with loose and pressed eye shadow as well as with pigments. If you normally go for a look that requires more than one eye shadow you should definitely have more than one of these.

2. MAC 217/ Sigma E25

mac 217 The most important brushes for eyesE25 2 The most important brushes for eyes

This is a oval shaped blending brush with chiseled sides and is best used for blending out harsh edges around the eyeshadow you applied with brush no 1, but it can also be used to apply primer, base eye shadow colours and cream eye. It´s my favorite brush of all time and I don´t know what I would´ve done without it. This is also a brush you should have more than one of to avoid blending out harsh edges and discovering you suddenly have a pink smokey eye because you used it the day before for a pink look.

If you already have these two, or have a healthier budget which lets you buy more brushes, these are the ones I would go for:

3. MAC 224/ Sigma E40

mac 224 The most important brushes for eyesSIGE40 The most important brushes for eyes

This is also a blending brush, but it´s bigger and more rounded in shape. I find that this is the best brush to apply highlighter to the brow bone. It can also be used to blend out harsh edges but I prefer to use the 217 for that.

At this point it really is a lot about what kind of makeup you apply because a smokey eye requires different brushes than a twiggy look.

4. MAC 219/ Sigma E30

219 mac The most important brushes for eyesE30 2 The most important brushes for eyes

This small rounded brush is great for applying precise colour on the crease, outer corner, inner corner and lower lash line.

5. MAC 214/ Sigma E20

214Brush The most important brushes for eyese20 The most important brushes for eyes

This flat, short and dense brush is perfect for smudging out eyeliners along the upper and lower lash line. You can also use it to apply eyeshadow and it works especially well underneath the eye as it is so small.

6. MAC 226/ Sigma E45

mac 226 The most important brushes for eyesE45 The most important brushes for eyes

This is very similar to the 224/ E40 in shape, but it´s smaller and with a more tapered tip which makes it amazing for blending eyeshadows together in small areas and for applying eye shadow to the crease.

Prices and where to get them:

I´d say these six are absolutely essential.

On Sigma Beauty you can build your own kit with the brushes you like. A kit with these 6 will cost you $54 US/ €39,58. If you want the MAC brushes it will cost you about  £100 from Mac Cosmetics UK and $150 from Mac Cosmetics US.

Depending on if you use gel liners and eyebrow shadows:

1. MAC 209 or 210/ Sigma E10 or E05

When it comes to brushes for gel liners most people have one shape or size they prefer to work with. It depends if you like a thick line or a thin line really as you´ll get a thinner line with the thinner brush. You can also use a small angled brush like MAC 263/ E65 if you prefer that. If you like to use dipliner instead of gel liners you won´t need any of them.

2. MAC 208/ Sigma E65

This is a small angled brush to use for eye brows. These two can´t really be compared as they are made of different hair, but the shape is kind of similar. I think it´s absolutely worth splurging on this one and go for the brush from MAC as it is a hundred times better.
