IMG 6230 Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 Review & Swatches

The first Naked palette from Urban Decay was sold out for months, and quickly became the worlds best selling eyeshadow palette of all time (if you haven’t seen my review of the first palette, you can see it here). Needless to say that this palette has been highly anticipated :)

IMG 6564 Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 Review & Swatches

The first four shades are warm, the next four are neutral shades and the last four are cooler shades.

IMG 6571 Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 Review & Swatches

You get 12 matte and shimmery neutral eyeshadow of which 5 shades are brand new. The palette also comes with a full size shadow/crease brush and a mini Lip Junkie Lipgloss in the pinky-brown shade Naked. On first glance it seemed that this palette was divided into one half of warm tones, and one half of cool tones which I think is very clever as the last palette was very warm and golden.

Now it’s time to get Naked! :D

  1. Foxy: The perfect matte nude shade. I love using it to blend out colours on the lid to get an even transistion up to the brow bone for a perfect smokey eye.
  2. Half Baked: This shadow was included in the last Naked palette too, but I think it’s ok because it’s a beautiful golden colour.
  3. Bootycall: The ridiculous name aside, this light shimmery pink is so lovely in the inner corners of the eyes to really brighten the eyes. NEW!
  4. Chopper: This is a coppery shadow with chunky silver glitter. Similar texture to Sidecar, which means lots of fall out. The colour is absolutely stunning though.

  1. Tease: The second of the three matte shades in the palette. This is a slightly more darker and reddish shade than the browns in the last palette. It’s a must have for green eyed girls. NEW!
  2. Snakebite: A beautiful golden brown shade. Personally I think this is one of the prettiest shades. NEW!
  3. Suspect: This is also a really pretty shade. It’s kind of like a topey shimmery shade. I love it!
  4. Pistol: A very interesting brownish silver, also a favourite of mine! Because of the duo effect I think it would be really pretty even just on its own.

  1. Verve: A silvery pinky highlight colour. Probably the one I like the least.
  2. YDK: A cool shimmery bronze, beautiful!
  3. Busted: A dark shimmery plummy brown, the perfect smokey eye colour for green eyes. NEW!
  4. Blackout: Finally! The star of the palette. Every palette should have a matte black that applies as dark as you want it. LOVE!
IMG 6250 Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 Review & Swatches
The flat brush is the same as the one in the previous palette. The fluffy brush is very similar to Mac 222 in shape. Quality wise it’s not my cup of tea.

What I like:

I like that it contains both shimmery and matte shades. I’m especially fond of the nude, Foxy, and the black, Blackout. I also like that there are both cool and warm shades. As for the packaging I’m jumping up and down for the fact that they’ve changed the horrible velour packaging they used for the last palette, to this tin case. It’s much easier to keep it clean this way! The big mirror inside is also a major improvement. As for the double sided brush I think it’s a nice touch as opposed to the single flat brush they included in the second edition of the first palette. Being able to blend the colours properly is so important for a nice finish.

What I don’t like:

Not much to be honest. If anything I would prefer it if they included the darker matte brown, Buck, in this palette too. A warm matte brown is always a good shade to have. I’m also a bit sad that they have replaced the primer for a lipgloss as a primer makes so much more sense, especially if you haven’t used a primer before.

Do you need this if you already have the first Naked palette?

The first Naked palette has a few shades (mainly the matte browns) that I can not live without. However, this palette also have a few shades that I’ve been missing in the first palette. I’m clearly talking about the matte nude and the matte black, but the there are also a few others that I really love (Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol and Busted). I think the palettes complement eachother so well as there are several shades that are so beautiful together. If you’re only getting one, get this one. If you already have the previous palette, get this one if you prefer cooler shades, if you travel a lot or if you’re just a hopeless makeup addict like myself :)

I got mine from BeautyBay

Finally, two hours after I started uploading it, it’s finally up! Hurry up watching it before Youtube decides to block it again, they seem to enjoy doing that with my videoes you see. Anyone know of any good triks to keep the videoes from being blocked (besides having no music, or cc music)?

Remember to change the quality to 1080p HD :D

I hope you enjoyed the video, and that you’re having a lovely Thursday evening! :D

Skjermbilde 2012 02 08 kl. 11.50.43 The long, volumous and beautiful hair youve always wanted!

Many of you have been curious about my extensions recently, and as I know how frustrating it can be to find good quality hair extensions in the jungle of options out there I thought I’d share my secrets with you. Fortunately for you, I have tried and failed a few times for all of us so that you don’t have to :) Now I know what to look for, and yet better, I know where you can get the best hair!!

About Locks&Bonds

1. What makes Locks&Bonds better than other brands?

In the past I’ve bought hair from lots of different brands who all claimed that they had “Remy quality hair”, which I fell for because it was quite cheap and seemed like a good deal (Rapunzel, Sara’s, American Dream Extensions etc). It was very disappointing when I washed the hair and it became all tangled and dry and I just had to throw it away after only once or twice of wear.

So, where do I get my hair from now and how is it different?

I have now curled, brushed, washed, straightened and partied (read champagne showers) with my hair from Locks&Bonds a number of times, and it’s still in the exact same soft state as when I got it!! This means I’ve finally found real Remy hair.

2. What does Remy hair really mean?

Remy Hair means that the hair is cut from the donor in one heavy ponytail, with the cuticle facing in the same direction. Inexpensive extensions are made from hair collected facing in all directions from many different donors (even from hairbrushes) so that the cuticle has to be removed in damaging acid baths, then covered in silicone so that the hair seems smooth.

However, after the first few washings, the remaining cuticles will rise as the silicone is washed off and hopeless dry tangling sets in because the cuticles act like little fish hooks hooking with the cuticles facing the opposite direction. Unfortunately brands lie about having Remy hair all the time, which is why it’s extremely difficult to find hair that actually is real Remy hair.

3. What kind of Remy hair does L&B use?

Not only do you have to worry about getting real Remy hair, but getting the right thickness of the hair is also key. Normally hair extensions are 0,5 grams per strand, but Locks&Bonds’ hair is 0,8 grams meaning it’s thicker along the whole strand which is what will give your hair that full and realistic look. I’m sure you’ve seen someone wear extensions where the ends of the hair is so thin that you can practically count the strands of hair, not pretty. With the hair from L&B you get fuller and more volumous hair, and it’s up tp you how long you want it. You have got to love that!

locks The long, volumous and beautiful hair youve always wanted!

What kind of hair extensions do they offer?

1. Clip ins

I use clip ins which is convenient for me as I like to sleep without anything in the way, and still have long and beautiful hair in the day or just when I feel like it. L&B offer two different packs of clip ins, I chose the full set one with an additional quad clip (180g). In the past I’ve found that I’ve needed two packs to get it as fullness I desire, but with L&B I foind that one pack is actually enough for me. The hair is 56cm long, which is a little bit longer than mine, but it blends in perfectly once it’s curled. I have the colour #60/613/16 which is blonde with both highlights and lowlights (perfect for natural blondes).

I wash the hair in the sink with babyshampoo followed by treatments like this, this and this.

2. Micro rings

Micro rings is a permanent solution meaning once it’s in you don’t have to worry about it. It becomes your hair. You have more freedom when it comes to finding the right colour as you can mix and match with four different colours. This is a better option if you want long hair all the time, but be aware that they may damage your hair slightly more than clip ins. There are however several types of micro rings so that you can chose the ones that is right for your hair which in turn will decrease the damage on your hair if treated properly. YouTube has lots of videoes on how to attach them, I know many girls who do it themselves but you can also go to a hairdresser if you don’t want to be bothered with it.

The three different micro rings:

Screw Micro Rings:

  • Screw threading in inside to keep them from slipping
  • Smaller than silicone micro rings and tubes

Silicone Micro Rings:

  • Silicone lining on inside of ring to protect fragil or over-processed and damaged hair. Silicone is very gentle on your own hair as it acts like a cushion between your own hair and ring
  • Good for hair prone to breakage

Copper Micro Tubes:

  • Copper is softer, easier to clamp shut
  • Clamps flatter than all other rings
  • Softer metal is more comfortable if you have a sensitive scalp
  • Longer length keeps them from slipping
  • Can be crimped for even more hold. (crimping means folding the tube in half lengthwise for double hold, also called making “books” To ‘crimp” tubes, you need a plier with a notch and a removal tool with long “fangs” to open the books again. They can not be re-opened with pliers.)

Just so you know, I bought my hair for my own money and I wouldn’t recommend anything I didn’t truly believe in. It’s my honest and sincere opinion as always.

Go to Locks&Bonds to get your fabulous hair!!

I hope you found that helpful, please don’t hesitate to leave questions if there is anything else you have questions about. I would be happy to help :D

IMG 5311 Review Phyto Intense Hydrating Oil Treatment Huile dAles

The package contains 5 ampoules of 10ml essential oils of sage, rosemary, juniper berries and lemon, castor oil derivative.

After having seen such surprisingly great results from the Philip Kingsley Elastisizer I was really eager to try more pre-shampoo treatments as they seem to do more for my hair than the post-shampoo treatments. A pre-shampoo treatment means it’s applied to the hair before you shampoo so that the hair really soakes it all up before it’s soaked in shampoo residue. Smart and very effective!

When I opened the package and got my curious little fingers on the ampoules I felt like I was in a labratory and was dealing with some serious clinical secret stuff. I must say I’m totally loving the ampoules as they keep the product fresh in the glass container all untill it is applied to the hair.

IMG 5313 Review Phyto Intense Hydrating Oil Treatment Huile dAles

The ampoules comes with a little spray bottle which you’re supposed to fill the oil into so that it’s easier to distribute the oil evenly in the hair. To get the oil into the bottle you break the ends and place it on top of the spray bottle. Super easy and very clever!

IMG 5329 Review Phyto Intense Hydrating Oil Treatment Huile dAles

To apply the oil you divide your hair into smaller sections and spray one sestion at a time focusing on the ends while massaging it in. It’s really important to focus it on the ends as this is some serious moisturising stuff which you don’t want too close to the roots as that might weigh your hair down.

Because it’s so sticky it won’t drip anywhere once applied, but you don’t want this on the floor or on your clothes so I advice you to spray in the shower. After you’ve massaged the oil into the hair you leave it in for 15 – 30 minutes. I normally put my hair up and jump into a robe while it’s in. Naturally this is the perfect time to apply that face mask you’ve been wanting to find time for as well. And while that’s on it’s a great time to pluck your eye brows and file your nails too :)

The oil does not smell nice, it smells organic if you know what I mean… But I’m ok with that because the scent doesn’t stay in the hair after it’s washed out and it means that the treatment doesn’t contain any perfume or other unnecessary ingredients. Don’t be afraid to really shampoo your hair after, I actually highly recommend it because the moisture will stay in the hair anyway but you want the sticky residue to go away. There is no need for any post-shampoo treatments as this is moisture enough, so save your conditioner and hair mask for the next hair wash :)

When hair is dry it’s first of all left with this amazingly beautiful shine. Secondly you will notice a huge difference to the ends, especially if you are suffering from dry and brittle ends.

So, which one do I love the most of the Philip Kingsley Elastisizer and this?

Difficult question as I think they are both great in two different ways. The Philip Kingsley treatment is not as intense as this one which means I use it more frequently to maintain the moisture in the hair while it still keeps my hair light and volumious. This treatment I save for when my hair is so dry that nothing else seems to work, because this really gives a shot of new life and moisture to the hair which means I don’t have to cut it as often :D I must say that it’s a must have if you’ve got chemically damaged hair and you think the only way out is to cut off your hair, I promise.. you’ll be surprised!

You can get it here.

open lock New in: Hermés Kelly Calèche and iPhone covers!!

CheapSmells.com sent me this lovely perfume together with a travel container for my flights, how cute!! Thank you so much, CheapSmells! I’ve worn it the last couple of days and I have received some many compliments on it. Even though it’s a completely different scent to what I normally go for, I must admit I quite like it! It’s difficult to describe it, but it’s kind of like a floraly, feminine and confident scent including notes of iris, lily of the valley, mimosa, tuberose, climbing rose, sheepskin, calf leather and vanilla. A girl online described it like this: “Kelly Caleche smells like me accepting a Nobel Prize on a good hair day: smart, pretty, in control and on top of the world!” he he, love it! So true!! It’s one of those fragrances you can’t stop sniffing at through out the whole day.

The fragrance supposedly has notes of leather as mentioned above, but it’s so subtle that it only awakens a distant memory of something you can not pin point exactly what is. The leather together with the floraly scent is supposed to remind of a new Hermés Kelly leather handbag, maybe that’s why I was drawn to it? ;)

The travel container is so cute and clever. In the past I’ve only seen containers you need to pour perfume into which immediatly throws me off, but this little thing you place on top of the perfume and pump the perfume into. So easy, quick and clean :)

Thank you all so much for the response to my first makeup video!! I don’t know what to say.. the comments just kept coming and I sat here red as a tomato from top to toe reading your comments, thank you so much!! You are all such wonderful girls and I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by here and leaving me all these wonderful comments. As for improvements I’ve found that I should leave the text for longer, make the font bigger and write all the products I’ve used in the information box below the video. I will do that :D I know you guys want me to talk you through as well, and I completely get it, but I don’t think I’m ready for it quite yet. Baby steps ;)

I hope you’re having a lovely Tuesday! I’m spending my day studying as James is in London for a few days. I am also feeling so sore all over my entire body in places I’ve never felt pain before due to BodyRock.tv, it’s unbelievable that 12 minutes can be so effective!! How are you guys doing?

IMG 0654 Review Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

- Your skin but better.

I got this when I was in London because I wanted to try some drugstore products and chose this amongst other because of having read great reviews of it in the past. The first time I tried it I was quite surprised by how healthy it made my skin look. It’s not thick or cakey, not shimmery, not oily.. it’s simply your skin but better. What I didn’t like as much was the smell, a very artificial fruity scent.

I kept using it thinking I had found my HG foundation and was just about to write a review about it when I started to notice little bumps in my skin. I have suffered from acne in the past so I’m very particular on what I use in my face, and pay close attention whenever I try out something new. Because I liked this so much I wanted to think it was the liquorice I ate that made my skin break out and kept using it for a little while longer, but my skin only got worse.

Now that I have stopped using it I can see that my skin looks better, but I still have a lot of break outs left to deal with because of it. I’ve read lots of reviews from people that haven’t had their skin break out so I guess it contains something that only certain people react to.

So, my conviction is that it’s the perfect finish of a foundation, but if your skin is acne-prone you should stay away as it might break you out like it did to me.

Have you tried this foundation? What’s your favorite?

Now that James is out travelling I don’t get in quite the same comfort zone in the evenings as I normally do, and therefore I find my self constantly pacing around the apartment as if I was looking for something. Tonight I came across a very nicely smelling pink little thing – a bubble bath bar, and in this very moment it just hit me that I haven’t had one single bath since we moved to our new flat.

IMG 2424 A bath with Lush The Comforter

Coincidentally, the name of the bath bar is “The Comforter” created to give you that extra special “softly wrapped in a blanket”- feeling infused with a very girly candy like berry scent which calms your senses whilst the essential oils do their moisturising magic for the skin. Perfect!!

IMG 2428 A bath with Lush The Comforter

Are you ready for the best part? It turns your steamy hot water PINK with lots of bubbles!!! We don’t ever get too old for bubbles do we? Weeeee :D Btw, you really don’t need more than 1/4 of the bar for your bath so one bar lasts for at least 4 baths! You are ment to crumble it up under the running water, but I recommend crumble it up in a small cup of very hot water to make sure everything dissolves and then pour this into the running water to create lots of bubbles.

IMG 2436 A bath with Lush The Comforter

As soo as the tub was filled I quickly slapped on a facial mask and slid down in my relaxing pink bubbly Nirvana where I stayed untill I dragged my self into bed.

IMG 2440 A bath with Lush The Comforter

I hope you’ve all had a lovely day! I’m so sleepy after this wonderful bath that I’m not even sure if I’ll manage to read nor watch a tv-serie. I’m THAT sleepy, guys. Hopefully this means I’ll wake up early to a day with just as much sunshine tomorrow! :D Good night, girls xx

IMG 17241 Review of Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Treatment

Remember my big hair treatment haul from LookFantastic? Well, this treatment was one of the treatments I ordered and the first one I decided to try. The treatment was originally created by Philip Kingsley specifically for Audrey Hepburn, who wanted a super-moisturising treatment that would repair her hair and keep it in great condition throughout the frequent colouring and styling done to her hair on movie sets. It quickly became her favorite and was then produced for us mortals as well.

The first time I used this mask I didn’ like it all as it left my hair feeling creamy and heavy after drying as if I had applied a moisturiser to my hair. It was so bad that I decided to go back in the shower and rinse the hair under water yet again. Still my hair was left feeling creamy and heavy, it was the strangest thing. As this was something I have never experienced before I decided to take a look at the container. There it was, the instructions. “Before shampooing, dampen your hair and apply Elasticizer in sections.” Oopsie, so I tried it once again following the instructions making sure I really washed out everything with the shampoo, and this time I got a much better result…

Consistency:

It resembles much more a moisturiser rather than a hair mask because of its silky mousse consistency. I guess that it’s because of the concistency the treatment is applied before shampooing, to protect the hair follicle against the somewhat harsh treatment it gets exposed to. I know most girls (me included) are very concerned about the smell of hair products, this doesn’t smell of anything in particular, quite clean if anything.

IMG 1730 Review of Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Treatment

How I like to use it:

  1. Wet hair and apply the mask in sections focusing on the ends. The more frizz or damaged hair you have, the more you apply.
  2. Cover with a plastic shower cap and leave for 20-30 minutes (or longer if you have the time).
  3. Wash your hair thorougly with shampoo and conditioner.
Result:

The first sign of improvement you will notice is how easy it is to comb through the hair as opposed to before. I think this is because the hair is kept protected from the shampooing process which normally causes lots of tangles. When hair is dry it feels really soft, hydrated and bouncey packed with lots of beautiful shine that we all love so much. In general it’s really good if you have dry and frizzy ends, but if your hair is really damaged from chemical treatments and you’re struggeling with tangled, porous and dry hair I’d really recommend this as this will make an extreme difference for you!!

IMG 1031 Review of Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Treatment
IMG 1027 Review of Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Treatment

You can really see how the ends where I’ve applied the treatment look much more shiny than the rest :)

Each time I’ve used it my hair feels more and more healthy. I have always ignored the pre shampoo treatments in the past thinking it’s a waste to apply something that will just be stripped out of the hair with the shampoo minutes after anyway. I’ve been so wrong, she said whilst slapping her self on the wrist. This is by far the best mask I’ve ever tried, it amazes me how big the difference on the hair is even though it is applied before the shampoo. I still can’t really manage to wrap my head around how that really works, but as long as it works I’m happy.

All in all: 10/10

You can get it anywhere they sell Philip Kingsley, or order it online at LookFantastic like I did if you also enjoy getting packages in the mail box :D They offer free worldwide shipping!! I got my package less than a week after ordering, and according to their website delivery is 1-2 days in UK, 5-7 days in Europe and 5-10 days in US.

Norwegians: Lookfantastic sender av en eller annen grunn ikke dette produktet til Norge, men det gjør FeelUnique som også har fri frakt OG refunderer det du eventuelt må betale i toll/moms :D

IMG 1711 When in Rome...

Good day my lovely readers :) I hope you’ve had a nice day so far. I’ve had a busy morning figuring out how to organise all the stuff that arrives from James’ office today. I just finished and the movers are about 5 minutes away, phuh!

So, back to the head line… What could possibly be more french than red nails (baguettes and croissant excluded)? While I’m sitting here waiting for the movers to arrive I thougth I’d paint my nails with something grown up so that my bossy pointing gets more powerful, haha :) I wish I was joking but if I’m wearing something that makes me feel more grown up and strong, I will act like it. Who knows, maybe even my french will improve ;) Please say that you do the same?

Anyway, I really like this red colour and I think it’s perfect for this time of the year. Red nails goes with almost everything.

What is your favorite colour for the nails this season?

I mentioned to you the other day how my hair has grown faster than ever and I gave all credits to the fact that I have switched hair products from Kerastase to natural and safe ingredients brands like Alexander Sprekenhus and Moroccan Oil.

haargrowth Volume, scalp treatment and faster growing healthy hair in one bottle.

The reason to why I bring this up once more is that I completely forgot to mention a product I’ve been using which might be a big part of my results. This is the John Masters Organics Deep Scalp Follicle Tretment & Volumizer For Thinning Hair. I got this because I was looking for a plain volumizing product that didn’t contain any harmful ingredients and didn’t leave much thought to the part where it claims “A leave in solution that helps to promote healthy growth by improving the condition of your scalp.” as I have never before seen any true results from fast growth products like that. So when I picked up this product this morning it suddenly hit me that this little bottle probably have done more than I thought it had…

IMG 0374 Volume, scalp treatment and faster growing healthy hair in one bottle.

IMG 0379 700x466 Volume, scalp treatment and faster growing healthy hair in one bottle.

Could it really be that this together with organic shampoo and conditioner promotes hair growth? Yes, I’m impressed! The best part is that it’s really inexpensive, a little goes a long way and it´s super easy to use. After I’ve washed my hair I apply Alexander Sprekenhus One Day Straightener (heat protectant) to the hair and follow up with spraying John Masters Organics into my roots and gently massage it in. When your hair has dried you can’t feel it at all which is a big plus for me (and the boyfriend) as I hate having sticky hair that I can’t slide my fingers through.

Review: 10/10

I bought mine at LookFantastic for £21.

I made a pact with my self that I’m not allowed to buy more make up for a while as I absolutely don’t need any more. That was untill I saw the Mac me over collection from Mac. Such an amazing collection!! So instead of going crazy and buy the whole collection like I normally do, I chose to only buy a couple of things.

Wow, I’m such a liar. Me choosing to buy only a couple of things isn’t true at all, it is what I tell my self to feel good about my self. The truth is that James went straight to London the morning after we came back home to Monaco from Beirut. When he was at the airport he called me to ask if there was anything I wanted from Mac (cute right??) and because I didn’t have much time on me I just yapped out the names of the products I could remember right there and then. Which was these:

Stunner blush, Dark Envy fluidline and Avenue fluidline

IMG 0241 Mac me over goodies

Now having thought about it and gone thoroughly through the collection online there is a couple of items I hate my self for forgetting, like these…

mac equile Mac me over goodiesBlush Equilibrium – A soft light bronzey blush with no shimmer or glitter…

226 Mac me over goodies

Brush 226 – The perfect blending brush for the crease which has been off the market for years..

I guess the saying “there is a reason for everything” counts in the situations where things don’t magically end up in my bag as well as the situations where things do magically end up in my possession.. ;)

Have you got yourself something pretty from this collection?
