I often get comments saying I have such a perfect little happy life and that they wish they had my life. Know that there is no such thing as a perfect life. I know the kind of pain that burns in your chest, I know the sorrow that haunts day and night and I know the worst kind of rejection that changes you for ever. I am not going to go in detail about what my ghosts in the cupboard are, because that is irrelevant. The point is how you deal with the lemons you are being served and how you choose to live your life. Stop searching for happiness, because happiness is something you choose. You can choose happiness no matter what.
Don’t be defined by anyone’s response to you. If you allow others to decide who you are, you will never be happy. You are the most important person in your life and you have to take care of yourself. Do the right thing for yourself which sometimes is removing yourself from a negative situation or letting go of people with negative energy. It will be hard, but it will get better. A step in the right direction is to stop focusing on what you haven’t got and start focusing on what you have got. Breathe, smell, taste and do everything that makes you happy, and let go of the past and stop worrying about the future. What is now is what matters and how you choose to live your day.
