Hello lovely readers ♥

Yesterday we ended up in China town. How cool is it to be able to go to China in less than two minutes? Ok, so it’s not quite the same as China, but it’s definitely different to the rest of London and I don’t think it could’ve felt more Chinese without jumping on a plane. It has everything from dodgy street food and street ornaments to a bunch of Chinese people talking Chinese to each other in Chinese shops!

IMG 2984 CHINA TOWN

The plan was originally to go out somewhere we’ve never been before and do something we’ve never done before, but we kind of failed. We’ve been to China town before, but it’s been a while and we both really felt like Asian so why not? It calms my travellers heart for bit at least. You get a quick boost of a foreign culture.

IMG 29851 CHINA TOWN

I changed into something a bit more chilled than what I wore earlier. I’m wearing a Zara leather jacket, Alexander McQueen scarf, Alexander Wang bag and Chloe boots.

IMG 2988 CHINA TOWN

Restaurants like this one actually remind me of China, there always seem to be the dried out chickens in the window. One day I am going to try one and see what all the fuss is about. One day… just not yesterday ;)

IMG 2989 CHINA TOWN

Luckily we found this place which looked really nice and seemed a good end to the debate of whether we should have Chinese, Thai or Sushi as they served all three. Even more luckily all three ended up being delicious.  The menu was huge but we narrowed it down to some sushi, duck in pancakes and a thai green curry.

This was the Volcano roll which is a sushi roll filled with tuna and avocado in a tempura batter drizzled with melted cheese and salmon roe. Pretty yummy :D

Have you been to Chine town before, or perhaps China? I went to Beijing once years ago, but it was in the middle of the winter and it was freezing cold – would love to go back in summer and see some more! xx

I’mso fortunate to be allowed in several of Londons many great members clubs as James is a member of many of them, and so far the Arts Club is my favourite. It’s located in Dover Street, right in the heart of Mayfair.

IMG 2911 Tea at The Arts Club

We had a traditional English afternoon tea which is far more common than I first thought. Brits actually have their afternoon tea as often as possible, which is most days it seems. In addition to the tea itself it includes little mini sandwiches made of white bread with cucumber, salmon, avocado and shrimps…the works. It also includes pastry with clotted cream and jam which is their big pride. Lastly it sometimes includes something small, pretty and sweet. Today we chose a pistachio macaron and a caramel cream brioche.

IMG 2929 Tea at The Arts Club

This little piece is magnificent, it’s just as creamy and tasty as it looks like. YUM!

Notice the guy in the second floor of Alexander McQueen, hahahaha :D

Time for the pistachio macaron with a mini macaron on the side and a perfcet little chocolate bow ♥

…which didn’t last long once mister nosey came along :D

IMG 2932 Tea at The Arts Club

Yet it still looks beautiful and delicious. Infact, so delicious that I had to change the lense of my camera to give you a close-up….

There we go. YUM!

Have a lovely Saturday, my wonderful readers ♥

Happy Saturday everyone!

The photos above were taken on the way to the Arts Club, and right across the street of the Arts Club is a shop called Dovers Market which is one of my newly found pieces of heaven! Alaïa, Mary Katrantzou, Peter Pilotto, Saint Laurent, Christopher Kane, Alexander McQueen… the list goes on. It’s an amazing mix of brands, and the sale that has been has been great too. Worth checking out if you’re in London. Ask the cab driver to take you to the end of Dover Street, the end by Ritz. You’ll find it just passed Acne and McQueen, and once inside you want to go down the stairs.

Right now I’m at the Arts Club having an English afternoon tea, it’s really lovely. A bit unhealthy, but really lovely! I would share so many photos with you, but no photos are allowed :/ I’m incredibly tempted to try anyway, so pop by later today as I might be able to snap a few. We love being sneaky, don’t we? ;D

Hope you’re having a great day! xx

I thought I’d gather some of my absolute favourites under £200 from the sale in blacks since I did so many whites last time around. Maybe an Elie Saab top? Or Elie Saab shoes? Missoni bikini? Valentino bangle? Or how about a 3.1 Phillip Lim clutch? Many bargains can be made if you know where to look. Just click on the item to get to the shop.

I don’t know what it is but I kind of sort of really like these, is that really bad? hehe.. I know they’re a bit tacky maybe, but I just think they’re so fun! So little and cute. It was a lovely reader who just left a link for them so at least there is one other person who is with me on this, you can check them out here. I think I would take off the plug though and use it as a keyring instead, I would be to embarrassed to pull out my phone in public other wise ♥ ;)

What do you think? Cute or tacky, or both? :)

background Beauty Awards January

You’ve asked me so many questions about my skin care regime and hair and makeup favourites lately (which is a good thing and I’m totally thrilled about it ♥) so I thought I would sum up all my favourites for each month in one post. A monthly beauty award. How does that sound? That means I will sum up all my most loved products for this month only, not including summer favourites etc. If you like this post then please let me know so I know whether to keep doing them or not :)

Makeup

makeup award Beauty Awards January

1. YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation.

Probably not a surprise, hehe? My skin is very sensitive and I break out very easily, however, this has proven to be safe. It provides medium coverage, feels and looks like skin and gives the most beautiful dewy glow. I use shade B30. Get it here.

2. Guerlain 4 seasons terracotta bronzer

This is a life saver, especially on early pale mornings! I love it can be used all year due to the four shades which run natural as opposed to the orange tinge many bronzers seem to have. I must also mention it lasts forever! I use the shade 02 Brunette. Get it here.

3. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser

A long time favourite which is also safe for sensitive skin, at least for mine. I use this as a foundation as I think the coverage it provides is as good as many foundations I’ve tried. It gives the skin a beautiful healthy look without making the skin look oily. I use shade Sand. Not sure where to get it online but most airports always have a great offer for this!

4. Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara and Art Liner

I’m a big fan of Lancome’s mascaras! Normally I use the Hypnose previous cells but a friend convinced me to try this and it really is amazing! The brush is wide on one side and flat on the other making it easy to reach the roots of your lashes and the shorter hairs, making your lashes look fuller. The art liner has the perfect tip to line the lash line, it’s easy to make both a thin line and a thicker line. Get the mascara here and the liner here.

5. Mac Pinch Me Blush

I have two favourite blushes, that is Mac Pinch me and Nars Dolce Vita. This month I’ve been using Pinch me simply because it happend to end up in my makeup bag. I barely dot the brush in the pan (I like to use this brush for blushes btw) and lightly dust in onto my cheeks. Little by little :) Get it in Mac shops, Nars Dolce Vita can be found here.

6. YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in 02

As with blushes I also have two favourite lipsticks, that is YSL Rouge Volupte 02 Beige and Mac Hue. This month I’ve been wearing the YSL lipstick and I think it comes down to the amazingly beautiful packaging which decorates my environment no matter if it’s in my bag or on the shelf. I don’t actually smear it on but lightly dot it on instead as I like the matte look it creates. Get it here.

7. Urban Decay Naked Palette 1+2

I’ve been wearing very little eyeshadow this month but when I have these are my go-to palettes. Often I will use a little Naked or Buck just by the lash line to create a soft day smoked eyeliner, and a bit of shimmer by the tear duct – that is an instant pick me up btw! Get Naked 1 here, and Naked 2 here. I hear the new Naked Basics palette is great too?

8. Mac Subculture

Probably the most asked for product this month, even James commented it was “a great makeup lip thing I had done”. I’ve used this to fill in my lips and it gives a great matte nude lip! I highly recommend it :) Get it in Mac shops.

Skin care

1. Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser

I love this so much!! If you read my blog this week you’ve probably already read my review, if not you can check it out here. This cleanser is especially great for sensitive skin, it removes makeup easily whilst still not stripping the skin for moisture. And the smell… my god.. it’s heavenly! ♥ Multi award winning for a reason I guess he he. Get it here.

2. Ole Henriksen Herbal Day Creme with spf 15

This moisturiser transformed my skin from moderate acne to almost free of blemishes in only days! I have never seen anything like it before and I’m so thankful I found this. It’s for normal/combination skin and moisturises while still letting the skin breathe. The spf is for both UVA and UVB rays, meaning it protects from both aging and burning rays. You can read more about it in my review, here. Get it here.

3. Ole Henriksen Truth Collagen Booster

Another multi award winning product. This serum is packed with c-vitamins and antioxidants which helps rebuild the skin tissue, and this is a must have if you’re looking to slow down the aging process or even out the skin tone. Read more about it in my review here. Get it here, OR…

1. Phillip Kingsley Body Building Volume Shampoo

I love Phillip Kingsley’s treatments and conditioners so I wanted to try a shampoo too and this one has quickly become my new fav volume shampoo! It makes the hair light without stripping off moisture, LOVE! Get it here. Offer right now: Receive a free Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 40ml worth £8 when you spend over £30 on Philip Kingsley products!

2. Phillip Kinglsey Conditioner Moisture Balance

It’s unbelievable how soft it makes my hair, almost like a hair mask only you get much more product for your money :) Get it here. Offer right now: Receive a free Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 40ml worth £8 when you spend over £30 on Philip Kingsley products!

3. Kerastase Forcintense

I’ve used this for probably about 7 years or so now and it’s still my favourite for when my hair really needs that bit of extra attention, which normally is proteins. The treatment is divided in two, first step is to nurture the hair follicle and second is to lock in the proteins. This is some serious hair salon stuff and I always feel like I’m spoling my hair whenever I use it. I can’t recommend it enough! Get it here.

4. Kerastase Ciment Thermique

Heat protectant and heat activating hair mask in one! It smells really good, makes my hair soft and easy managable and protects against heat – what’s not to love? Get it here.

5. Kérastase Nutritive masqueintense

A great mask for when moisture is needed! I only use it in the ends of my hair and so it lasts forever despite the fact that I use it almost every time I wash my hair. Both this and the Kerastase Forcintense mentioned above are must haves if you don’t want the hair dresser to cut off your locks! Get it here.

6. John Masters Organics deep scalp follicle treament and volumiser

I’ve written a review about this one too, you can read it here if you missed it. The photos in the review tells better than any words, my hair started growing insanely faster after I started using this. To be honest it doesn’t provide that much volume, but the health of the sclap and the growth of the hair is tremendous! Definitely a must have if you’re saving for long hair! Get it here.

7. Diva hot air styler

I’ve written a review on this not too long ago, if you missed it you can read it here. It’s a salon blow dry at home basically! Really easy to use, easier on the hair than curling irons and good value for the money. Get it here.

8. Clip in hair extension

I’d prefer to keep this to my self as it’s one of those things you like to pretend to be real, but I do sometimes cheat when it comes to my hair. I find clip ins the perfect solution for me as it both looks and feels perfectly real and is easy and quick to apply, yet I don’t have to sleep with it or work out with i. I use the shade 60/24 – Sandy Blonde, a full set + quad clip, get it here.

9. Moroccan Oil

I completely forgot when putting the pictures together, but I have been using Moroccan oil a lot as well, amazing stuff, but I’m sure you’ve heard all about it so I won’t bore you with that ;) Get it here.

Please let me know if this is something you want me to continue doing, either by a comment or a like on bloglovin or facebook :) I would also LOVE to hear your favourites, maybe you know of products that are better than some of these? Tell me, tell me!! ♥

Do you remember I wrote about La Bodega Negra months ago, “the sex shop” restaurant? I came across a review on the blog of the talented foodie Rosie and thought it would be a great idea to surprise James with seeing as he was normally the one that took me places in London. We both loved it, and I now hear the place is really trendy and it can be hard to get a table, same goes for Ceviche which is a pity as we really love that place too. Anyway, yesterday we decided to check out La Bodega Negra the café as we were strolling around in Soho feeling peckish :)

bodega negra cafe La Bodega Negra Café in Soho

We ordered tortilla and guacamole, seabass ceviche, tuna tostada, Guadalajara spicy chicken salad and beef wraps. My favourite was the tuna tostada which is the dish on to the left in the pictures above. I would say La Bodega Negra the cafe gives you a taste of what the restaurant serves but at a much more affordable price, I highly recommend it if you’re looking for lunch in Soho! Unlike La Bodega Negra restaurant you don’t need a reservation which is great if you’re just looking for a quick lunch (or drinks – they have an extensive drinks menu!)

Good afternoon ♥

Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday. Yesterday we decided to head out for a quick dinner in Shepherds Market. We ended up going for some yummy Libanese food and orded enough hummus, pita, tabbouleh, falafel and grilled platter for 4. After dinner we went for a little stroll to let the food digest and decided to go and see Les Misérables the movie on the cinema. We saw the musical a couple of years ago so it was fun to see the movie as well. I thought it was brilliant and weeped in symphony with the rest of the girls. Sigh… just thinking of it makes my throat thicken. Have you seen the musical or the movie, or perhaps you’ve read the book?
