I’ve been jamming away to various music found on youtube all day today, whilst wearing this unflattering number by French Connection which I got almost for free at Asos’ outlet :) Most comfy thing ever!
Every year Monaco hosts the international fireworks contest, and each show lasts for a whopping 25 minutes. Even though it happens every year I never seem to be prepared, and yet again my heart jumped out of my chest when it began. Nevertheless, it is a spectacular show! I was puffing and panting my way through a late night workout and felt quite happy I had a valid excuse to jump off the treadmill ;D No one ever gets too old for fireworks, right?
The contest itself is actually not held in our area, but a friendly soul must have decided to give us a little show as well :D Woohoo – the small things in life..
Hope you’ve had a lovely Tuesday! Sweet dreams, sweets! xx
Hope everyone are off to a good start of the new week?? I started the day with a 10km run – with a new high score – yay!! I ran while watching MTV, and Cheryl Cole and Justin Bieber are both puking their songs in my head at the moment. Lovely ;)
After having finished my workout feeling very good about myself, I decided it was time for an itzy bitzy reward, and as I was browsing trying to decide what to clickety click home I thought you might want to know what’s out there as well in case you’ve been fiercely productive, hit a new record or just generally deserve a little something because what ever reason :)

Lately I’ve been trying out a new self tan, and I’m so excited about sharing this with you!! Although I am not a heavy self tan user, I’ve tried my fare share of self tans! I think it’s a great quick fix to look that extra bit better with very little effort before special occasions. Eyes seem brighter, teeth seem whiter and the figure seem a smidgen slimmer as well ;) I was initially intrigued by this self tan because of the fact that it’s a spray, which I haven’t tried before. When I noticed it doesn’t contain any parabens either, I was all over it!! :D
Left leg with SunSpa – right leg without SunSpa (I never thought I’d ever write this on the blog, but notice the colour on the toes!!)
Pros:
Cons:
♥ Does not need rubbing which makes it easy to apply and eliminates the possibility of uneven and blotchy results.
✖ You ought to avoid contact with water or perspiring for 8 hours while your tan develops, meaning no work outs – maybe this should’ve been a pro ;)
♥ The spray gives an air brushed effect around difficult areas like the feet and hands as opposed to creams and mousse self tans.
✖ Wears off farely quickly (3-4 days).
♥ SunSpa is easy to apply to the back even on your own.
♥ A self tan session is done in 10 minutes, whilst creams and mousse self tans normally takes longer to apply because of the rubbing interrupted by hand scrubs every 3 minutes.
♥ Does not contain parabens, which are harmful chemicals linked to cancer.
♥ Gives a natural colour because of the combination of DHA and Erythrulose, which both react to the proteins in the top layer of your skin without leaving any orange dye residue.
♥ SunSpa don’t contain any added dye, so the colour won’t show until a few hours after application – which is a good thing for your skin and the colour.
♥ Doesn’t smell like a self tan.
♥ Leaves skin soft and nourished by E-vitamins and Aloe Vera.
What are parabens, and why should you avoid them?
Parabens are chemicals added to products acting like preservatives, which we absorb through our skin. There have been studies that say that it is potentially dangerous and that have linked parabens to cancer and rosacea amongst other illnesses. I have chosen to take the precautionary route and not use products containing them when I can help it, and so should you ♥
Final thoughts
I was a bit nervous about the whole spraying thing as I’ve only been using mousse and creams in the past, but not only am I a convert – I’m totally in love!! The spray gives the most natural air brushed effect on difficult areas like feet and hands and it also makes it easy to apply to the back without help, and the colour looks exactly like a real tan – and it doesn’t smell!! They do another one which is slightly darker in colour as well which I’ve got to get, and they also have a sports one which doesn’t smudge if you work out which I think I’ll have to get as well! :D
I got it at Makestyle, who also have the other two sprays as well!
Thank you so much for your help on the bikinis yesterday, both here and on Instagram ♥ I made an order yesterday while listening to Enrique Iglesias live from the Sporting Club, which is just behind the beach on the photo below!! Weeee :D He is playing tonight as well as part of the Monte Carlo Sporting Summer Festival which started yesterday and goes on until the 18th of August. I’m definitely going Aug 5th, for LMFAO :D
This weekend I’m having a pure Celina-weekend :) Think hair masks, facials, self tan (found a new favourite which I will tell you about tomorrow!!), reorganising, healthy raw food, running, lunches with friends, shopping, planning the next week etc. Next week my mum and step dad will come, and then James will come home the same day they leave, but at least we get a day together :D This summer is going by so quickly, I can’t believe we’re in July already :O
As I’m sitting here in my bath robe, with my faithful iPad in my lap with 9 tabs of my favourite blogs, sipping on a green smoothie and peering out to sea once in a while – I think to myself, what a wonderful world :D I almost feel like I ought to pinch my arm just to make sure my life isn’t a dream. There is so many things I am so grateful to have. I feel so incredibly lucky to be healthy and to have healthy (and lovely) parents and siblings, the best boyfriend in the world, the best readers in the world (yes, YOU ♥), wonderful friends for life – no matter the distance or time between each time we see each other, and of course to be able to wake up to this view.
I hope all of you are having a really nice Saturday as well!! Lots of love and smiles ♥ :D
“This is a true master piazza”, she whispered while sighing and looking dreamingly over to her new favourite wardrobe piece..
I mean, you know it’s of great quality when the skirt has it’s own dust bag! :O Not even my Hervé Léger clothes came with dust bags haha! What I love the most about this skirt is how I can pair it with white, cream, black, green, orange and golds – just about anything really. Something tells me it will be worn a lot, weeee, can’t wait to wear it!!! Found it here
While I was searching for the link for the skirt for you, I came across bikinis on sale as well (LINK!). Funny thing is that I actually tried one on when I was in London, but I couldn’t justify spending that much money on a bikini, I regretted it badly when I got back to Monaco though so I’m thrilled to see they are on sale! There is a reason for everything, you know ;) But again I’m faced with the impossible task of choosing one….
After I posted this look I got tons of questions for how I did the hair do. Truth is I was planning on doing something entirely different when time suddenly ran out on me and I had to just clip it up really quickly before we left. In other words, this is the easiest hair do in the world! Not only is it easy but it’s a romantic and classic style that suits everyone for all occasions.
All you need is some bobby pins and a spritz of hair spray to keep it in place. If you’re opting for a messier effect, back-comb before you put it up and mess it up a bit before you clip it in place. Just add more and more bobby pins until you are happy with the way it looks and it feels secure. Easy, right? :D
This day is just flying by so fast!! I started my day with a 10 km run followed by a bodyrock routine (which I am ridiculously proud of, hence the prompt bragging). After that I headed out for some errands, and before I knew it half the day had gone by and I just realised I haven’t had the chance to wish you all a good day so..
The lovely Catherine wrote a post yesterday about a new app she’s been checking out, so the copycat I am I had to try it out :D The app allows you to make a collage and add text, stickers and backgrounds – it’s called Pic Collage. Pretty cool, huh? Anyone know of any other cool apps one simply can’t live without? :)
Now I’m going to raid the kitchen for something I can stuff my face with because I am starving, but I will write again later!! See you soon, babes xx
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on the last post, I have the sweetest readers in the world!! ♥ I wish I could bring you all on a boat trip, but I guess the photos are the closest we can get ;)
I haven’t had the opportunity to reply to your comments yet for the same reason as I am a bit late on today’s post. The mysql server has been updated today (what ever that is), which is why the blog was down for a while as well. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, I share a lot of photos there which never see the day on the blog. My Insta name is “bycelina”.
I’ve been walking around like a zombie all day today as I’ve been up since 05 this morning to kiss James good-bye, hence the head line of this post (Yes, I know we’re not married I just think it’s a fun word for a wife whose husband is traveling). He will be gone for about 10 days, visiting 5 different countries – what a rock star, right?! ;) While James is off, my mum and step dad will come and visit me for a long weekend, and I can’t wait to see them! :)
Ever since we stepped on the boat I’ve had a huge cheesy grin stuck on my face which seems impossible to wipe off. I am so happy right now!!! James has organised people to polish the boat and get her ready for use, so an hour before we left he called to let them know we were coming so we could just jump in and head out. Isn’t she gorgeous??
With my heart in my throat I watched James manoeuver out of the spot for the first time, luckily it went really smoothly. You don’t want to bang into any of these you know…….
As soon as we were out of the harbour we powered off jumping off the waves, and just when I thought my smile couldn’t get any wider it stretched so wide I was scared the corners of my mouth would crack.
We had a bit of fun out at sea before we decided to go for lunch at Anjuna in Eze. Anjuna is one of my favourite beaches! The restaurant serves lovely home cooked food and is gorgeously decorated.
If you ever go here you should try the roasted chicken or the salt baked fish for 2, which is what we normally have, we were both just far to excited to eat anything heavy so we ordered some sashimi, sea bream tartare and salad instead :)
There is that cheesy grin again….. ;)
After lunch we headed towards Cap Ferrat for a while before we turned back and went for a swim right outside of my favourite hiking trail at Cap Martin. You have no idea how many times I’ve been daydreaming about doing that, and the feeling of swimming in the ocean can not be described with words. I was so happy I got dangeroulsy close to cracking those corners of my mouth again. In fact I laughed so hard in the water I exhausted myself and had to swim back to the boat to catch my breath. #happiness
I am without a doubt the worlds happiest and luckiest girl today!
