Hi sweetest ♥

What a great day it is today! I just woke up feeling happy for no apparent reason today, isn’t that just marvellous when that happens? I hope you are having an equally nice day! :)

I’ve spent the morning in the sun going through emails while eating frozen berries which is my newest addiction. I mainly eat raspberries, and I have found that just past the point they’re slowly starting to melt they become sorbet in my mouth – delicious!

Thought I’d take my new shoes from Kurt Geiger, which I found on sale, out for a spin today :)  I might even celebrate this glorious day with something bubbly, after all it is “little Saturday” today :D

“Little Saturday (Lille Lørdag) is a Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish concept that adds Wednesday to the list of “drinking days”, with Friday and Saturday. Norwegian teenagers and young adults often use Lille Lørdag as a synonym for Wednesday (Onsdag in Norwegian.) ” – Wikipedia

Keep smiling, beautiful! xx

Hi sweets!

Thank you all so much for your get better comments, you are so sweet!! I think I must have the best readers in the world and you know what that calls for… group hug!! :D

I always find it so annoying and uninteresting to read posts about how ill a blogger feels, so I thought I’d spare you for that one, hence the slight absence this weekend. I feel much better now though, so this week it will be much more fun around here :D

After having completed my top 3 tv-shows (The Vampire Diaries, Revenge (such a good season finale) and The Lying Game), my mind searched for something else to keep me out of the boredom with and of course I ended up with my favourite thing to do – reorganise the flat! I don’t know if it was the creativity that didn’t get its outburst through the blog or if it was the pills that did their magic, but the ideas were flowing around like a thunderstorm and finally we’ve found a solution to our most troubled room – the office/spare bedroom.

Normally the reorganising happens late at night after a few glasses of wine when James is away on business trips, but this time I was in bed pointing and bossing James around. Quite amusing I must say. As mentioned the result is magnifique so the important thing to take from this is that me pointing and him moving stuff around is the best way to go ;) (Incase you didn’t get it, I’m only joking!)

Our problem with the spare bedroom/office has been to find a solution on how to fit the sofabed, which needs space to easily unfold when needed, while still having enough space for two desks with computers and all that comes with it without blocking the balcony doors and the view. We ended up taking a console table as an office desk which is long enough for two computers, but still narrow enough for the sofa to unfold. Brilliant, huh? :D

Le result of my new work space:

I’m planning on putting up a big mirror above “the desk” so that we still get to look at the view while working as we’re now facing the opposite direction. The coffee table and the dining table which we’ve been using as desks untill now have been given to a very happy cleaner, so all we need now is a new coffee table that fits this room perfectly.  Of course I have just the perfect thing in mind, I just need to find it. I’m looking for a tufted ottoman like this:

I am also planning on having 5 different old looking wall clocks above the sofa which tells the time for which ever countries James need to keep an eye on. The French provincial style furniture is impossible to find in France, but a quick google search shows it’s pretty easy peasy getting it everywhere else. Isn’t that strange? I am on a mission and I won’t quit untill I have it :D

I hope you’ve all had a really nice weekend and a great start of the new week :D

Hey loves! ♥

It is in the middle of the summer, the weather is amazing and I have caught a cold. How is that possible?? I don’t get sick very often, or at least I don’t admit I am untill I can’t stand up right. I slept all last night and all this morning, but when I got an email about this amazing deal I just had to pop in really quickly and share it with you as I’m sure I’m not the only one getting a heart race for this :D

I probably open the fridge at least 200 times a day. It seems a part of my brain believes that food will appear there miraculously :)

Often I’m not really hungry, I just want something, and I have found that these are the times when I happen to stupidly allow myself unhealthy snacks because I’m too lazy to cook something in order to just have a small bite. After having done a bit of research it seems I am not the only one doing this which is why I thought I’d share my solution with you ♥

First thing in the morning: Make a big delicious salad and place it in the fridge! I just pop in everything I have..

veg Do you keep opening the door to the fridge?

Todays salad:

♥ Spinach
♥ Cherry tomatoes in red and yellow
♥ Bell peppers
♥ Brie cheese
♥ Strawberries
♥ Avocado
♥ Garlic
♥ Olives
♥ Spring onions

IMG 4321 Do you keep opening the door to the fridge?

Next time you open the fridge you can have a mouthful of salad, and then just pop it in again for later. If you still have more salad left by dinner time, then use it as a side dish. Ét voila mes amis, that is my newfound secret to happiness ;D

Hope you’re all having a lovely Wedsnesday!! XX

The sales are on, and there are some great bargains to be made! However, it can be difficult to know which items to look for and which items to steer clear of.

What to get:

♥ Designer bags

During sales you might come across a really good deal on a designer handbag, but be quick because these are often the first ones to get sold out.

vesker Designer Sale what to look for

Found here and here

♥ High quality blouses

A blouse is one of the clothing items that never goes out of fashion and can be worn through all seasons. Blouses from Zara and h&m are beautiful, but the quality is less good which means it will only last for a season. Expensive blouses by reputable brands are often made of better quality and will therefore last longer than a season. Better quality blouses will also breathe better and feel better against your skin.

Some of my favourites from the online sale:

blouses Designer Sale what to look for

By Marlene Birger 60% off //Michael Kors 70% off

J. Crew 30 % off // DKNY 60% off

♥ Shoes

A nice pair of heels that works with both jeans and dresses is something everyone needs. Look for strapped sandals or pumps and steer clear of any too fancy ones with feathers and such. Real leather will shape much better for your foot making them much more comfortable to wear as opposed to the pu leather often used on the high street. Keep an eye out for good quality boots if you live in a cold country as you will probably get more use out of those anyway ;)

Some of my favourites from the online sale:

shoes Designer Sale what to look for

Jimmy Choo 30% off // Jimmy Choo 30% off // Michael Kors 50% off

♥ The LBD. This never-out-of-fashion dress can be worn for numerous events and styled uniquely with accessories. The best LBDs are the ones that are not too short, but very flattering for your figure. (read this post for tips on how to dress accordingly to your body shape)

Some of my favourites from the online sale:

dresses Designer Sale what to look for

Love Moschino 50% off // Red Valentino 50% // Moschino Cheap and Chic 50% off// Miu Miu 50% off

I would suggest to avoid any items that are very “trendy right now”, neon, and feathers and.. you see where this is going :)

I am sorry if some of the items are sold out, that is sale madness – got to be quick! :)

Hi girls :)

I hope you’ve had a great Tuesday so far! My day is going by so quickly! I haven’t even had time to think about lunch which is my favourite meal of the day. As I was going throughmy email this morning I found the dangerous kind of emails sent from online stores. Several of my favourite online stores are having a sale, and there are tons of beautiful stuff out there. Some of you have asked for my advice regarding what to look for in the sales, so I am working on a post about that now :)

IMG 0699 Puppy love

Do you remember I said we were going to get a Pomeranian puppy? The first time the breeder got puppies they decided to keep all of them, but they had plans for a new litter so we were promised one of those puppies. Well, this time it turns out the breeder was trying to sell us another breeders’ puppies who were already promised to someone else. That is really dirty play, don’t you think? Luckily we found another breeder who is planning a litter in autumn, so I guess we’ll just have to wait a bit more and cross our fingers that it’s our turn this time. I can’t wait to wake up to a face like this:

Untitled 1 Puppy love

How incredibly cute is he?? ♥

Skjermbilde 2012 06 18 kl. 15.46.50 Travel Guide: London

As you know I am not from London, but as I live with a Londoner I have had the pleasure to see a lot of this wonderful city. After numerous requests from you for a London guide I’ve finally managed to pull one together. It has taken some time because London is so big and there is so much I wanted to cram into this post. I have had a bit of help from my boyfriend, James, and even one of his friends (thank you, Tom!) but other than that it’s from my own experiences of the city. All restuarnats and clubs are linked to so that you can easily find the contact details for reservations.

Shopping:

IMG 0829 Travel Guide: London

♥ Neal Street in Covent Garden – Such a cute place to go shopping and just hang out! You can find shops like Aldo, Mango, Urban Outfitters, Mac Cosmetics ++
♥ Bond street – The smarter area with all the high end stores.
♥ Oxford street – Selfridges (world’s biggest shoe department), and most of the highstreet stores like Topshop flagship store, Zara, Miss Selfridge, River Island ++
♥ Kings road – All Saints Spitafields, Zara, The Merchant (second hand designer store) ++
♥ Knightsbridge – Harrods, Harvey Nichs + other shops nearby like Karen Millen, H&M ++
♥ Liberty in Soho – Smart shopping center.

For vintage I must admit I am not the right person to ask, but I have read and heard about Blondie Vintage /Absolute Vintage near Brick Lane and One of a Kind in Notting Hill.

Edit: Amanda recommended going to Portobello Road for vintage and you will find anything you could ever wish for.

Seeing:

♥ The Houses of Parliament and the famous clocktower that houses Big Ben.
♥ The Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.
♥ Horse guards parade and whitehall.
♥ The London Bridge and the nearby Tower of London with its colourful ‘Beefeaters’.
♥ British Museum.
♥ Madame Tussauds.
♥ Ride on the London Eye - the new landmark for London!
♥ Boat ride down the Thames.
♥ St James’ park and Hyde Park – pack a little picnic and head for the park for the day, really nice way of enjoying a day of British summer.
♥ Soho – because it’s charming.
♥ Covent garden at Carnably street – because it’s pretty.

Eating:

me smile Travel Guide: London

The Wolseley – The place to go for breakfast! I would recommend reserving, particularly during the week.
♥ Cecconis – Also a great place for breakfast! I’ve had plenty champagne breakfasts here :)
♥ Le Caprice – This restaurant is quite old but serves very good English/European food.
Zuma – Great Japanese restaurant.
♥ Nobu – Also great Japanese food but the cool kids don’t go anymore.
La Bodega Negra – This restaurant is found inside a sexshop in Soho, you can read about it my experience here. They serve proper Mexican food and superb Mojitos.
♥ Brick lane – If you are craving a good portion of unhealthy but very delicious Indian food, Brick Lane is the place to go! Indian restuaurants can be found everywhere, but our favourite is The Shampan! And apparently the best bagels are found in Brick Lane at 6am - No other words needed.
♥ Scalini – This is a nice restaurant with amazing old school Italian food.
♥ Delfino on mount street – Best pizza in town! Crispy and lots of toppings – yummy!
♥ Good Earth - Nice Chinese food in Knightsbridge
♥ Hakkasan – My favourite restaurant! If you are looking to spoil yourself rotten- Hakkasan is the place to go for super delicious Chinese food.

IMG 8172 Travel Guide: London

The ambiance at Hakkasan is really special, dark but decent and sophisticated.

  Clubbing and drinking:

IMG 8169 Travel Guide: London ♥ Cirque du Soir - Exactly what the name states, a club of circus events!
♥ The Box – Very similar to Cirque du Soir, you never know what to expect other than that it will be unexpected and entertaining.
♥ Scotch – Where the Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix went when they weren’t performing. Now reopened 20 years after with the same rock’n'roll theme.
♥ Project – If you are in for a night of full on clubbing this is probably the best place to go.
♥ McQueen - Sleek and beautifully decorated club with house music.

We normally stay at the Mayfair Hotel, but if you have any recommendations about other hotels to stay at it would be great if you left a comment :) You are of course welcome to leave a comment about other recommendations as well ;) Lastly I would recommend checking out The Londoner which is written by a Londoner (with really great hair!) and her life in London.

Have a safe trip!! xx

Good after noon ♥

So we’re already back at Monday again, isn’t it funny how fast the weekend pass by? ;) I used to hate Mondays, but lately I have come to enjoy them quite a lot. I like to start the week positively and productively otherwise I feel my whole week is a non starter. They say the positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible and that sounds like a good way of starting the week. Oh, and I make lists! I have lists for everything :)

IMG 41681 Mondays

I also like to think of Mondays as getting a fresh start at improving something I’ve been really bad at lately. Think about it, it’s pretty great. A second chance – every week!! :D Last week I did no exercise what so ever, so this week I am throwing my self at it. I woke up early, had a bowl of fruit and pushed through some bodyrocking – feels great! Now I have the rest of the day to do other stuff while feeling good about my self :)

Happy Monday sweetest!! Hope your week is off to a good start! XX

Heeeey :)

Are you ready for some serious picture overload?? :D We had such a lovely time and in a desperate attempt to keep the moments forever I snapped well over 100 pictures! Can you blame me when one is surrounded by beauty no matter where one turn? Sigh.. I could live in that cabana.

Spending a day at the MC Beach Club like that feels like having been on a holiday for a week so we decided we have to do this more often, seeing as they have wi-fi anyway we can both work too :D The plans for tonight is to relax at home and enjoy the last bit of the anniversary celebration before Monday hits us tomorrow. I hope you’ve all had a Sunday filled with happiness and warm smiles as well ♥

Anything you want more or less of, or anything in particular you are missing on the blog? I have planned a London guide, makeup tutorial for the look I wore for the photo shoot and recipe for the delicious raw dessert :D Have a lovely evening beautiful! XX
