Do you keep opening the door to the fridge?

I probably open the fridge at least 200 times a day. It seems a part of my brain believes that food will appear there miraculously :)

Often I’m not really hungry, I just want something, and I have found that these are the times when I happen to stupidly allow myself unhealthy snacks because I’m too lazy to cook something in order to just have a small bite. After having done a bit of research it seems I am not the only one doing this which is why I thought I’d share my solution with you ♥

First thing in the morning: Make a big delicious salad and place it in the fridge! I just pop in everything I have..

veg Do you keep opening the door to the fridge?

Todays salad:

♥ Spinach
♥ Cherry tomatoes in red and yellow
♥ Bell peppers
♥ Brie cheese
♥ Strawberries
♥ Avocado
♥ Garlic
♥ Olives
♥ Spring onions

Next time you open the fridge you can have a mouthful of salad, and then just pop it in again for later. If you still have more salad left by dinner time, then use it as a side dish. Ét voila mes amis, that is my newfound secret to happiness ;D

Hope you’re all having a lovely Wedsnesday!! XX

Looks delicious!! Did you put a dressing on it? Or eat it bare?

No, I think vegetables are juicy enough :) But if you prefer something, I’m sure a bit of olive oil and lemon juice could be nice?

Celina June 20, 2012 at 18:03

Takk for svar.

Celina June 21, 2012 at 12:40

Clever! This way you find something healthy when you open the fridge looking for a snack!
Another idea would be to prepare a fruit-salad as well with a teaspoon of amaretto in it! It’s also a delicious and super healthy snack!

I’ve never thought to place brie in my salads at home. Cheese is my weakness, I’ll have to be careful on my portions.

I like it… make now and eat later!
P.S Love your blog, just started following you but so far love how sweet you are at the end of each post. Why yes, I am having a lovely Wednesday, thank you for asking. :)

What kind of sauce have you used? It looks yummy :)

Reply

Celina June 21, 2012 at 08:36

No sauce, it’s just the avocado that makes it like that :)

That salad looks delicious, and such a neat idea to have something waiting! I have done that while I was on the Dukan Diet, as I was eating so much protein I needed something prepared in advance and it is such a good habit. Now I am just looking forward to being completely done so I can eat more vedgetables and less meat!

Another tip is always to have some sugar snaps in the fridge. Especially in the summer when you need a chucky snack!

Delicious! Having a fridge full of delicious vegetables helps snacking :)

Hi Celina,
This is such a great idea. I usually cut up celery and radishes and have them prepared in the fridge to grab quickly, so you get the crunch of eating without the calories. It’s actually a brain trick because you are chewing loudly your brain thinks you are eating more than you really are. Plus if I see them and try and grab something else then I will feel guilty.

love u as always xx
