London

It’s Friday already and we’re going back to Monaco later tonight. I haven’t had the chance to tell you about what I’ve been doing so I thought I’d try and cram it up in this post :)

Wednesday

First thing I like to do when I’m in London is to go out on the street and just blend in amongst the thousands of people. Oxford street is great for this! Of only 30 seconds of walking I’ve smelled coffee, perfumes, spices, leathers and soaps and heard at least 5 different languages and 7 different types of laughter. What’s not to love?

I didn’t have much time for shopping as we went to visit an up and coming artist in his studio in Brick Lane. Remember I told you we bought two paintings not too long ago of Conor Harrington? Apparently Brad Pitt got a piece from him as well back then. This time we were so lucky to be the first ones to choose from the new collection before anyone had even seen it while the paint was still wet :)

We went for an early dinner at a Peruvian restaurant, Ceviche, which James had read a great review of. We got an excellent service as I think maybe they thought we were food bloggers because of me taking pictures of every dish and James being naturally very curious about everything, while both of us has an unhealthy addiction to tap away on our phones while we eat and chat :P

Thursday

Yesterday I went for shopping in the area around Oxford Street and in Selfridges for a few hours before a hair appointment with the very talented Artistic Director Daniel at Michael John. I whimped out on the bangs, but I did cut it quite a lot to get some more body and shape. I was prepared to cut it 15 cm, but Daniel didn’t cut more than 10 cm which I am feeling very happy about. Definitely go see him if you need a hair cut when in London! If you’re ever in the need of a blow-dry you should also see him, he gave me the most beautiful head turning controlled mess. This guy knows what he’s doing.. Unfortunately I didn’t get to snap a picture of the result of the blow dry as I went shopping in the windy streets of London again.

For dinner we went for a quick bite to one of my favourite restaurants in London, Nobu, and ordered at least 15 dishes making it a £300 quick bite. Amongst our favourites are spicy salmon and tuna tacos, yellowfin tuna sashimi with jalapenos, wagyu beef sashimi and wagyu beef peruvian style skewers as well as the cheesecake. Yummy!

Today I started the day with an appointment with a famous nutritionist. I took lots of blood tests to see what vitamins and minerals I need more of and to see whether my diet actually fits with the way my body works. She is creating a diet which she wants me to follow for some time before we’ll take new tests. Very exciting, and of course I’ll keep you updated! :)

Now I have to run as I would love some more time in the shops before we leave at 17. I will show you all my purchases once I’m back in Monaco, but until then you can follow me on instagram (bycelina) as I’ve been posting a few previews there ;)

Hope you’re having a lovely day!! xx

Nobu is very nice, but if you are referring the the pictures of the food that is actually Ceviche :) If you have the opportunity you should absolutely go and check that out, really nice and healthy food and not very expensive either :)

Sounds like a fun mini break. :-)
Must be strange to have been on Oxford St compared to the quiet Monaco :-)

I love the huge glittering shoe in Selfridges, did you?

Reply

Celina October 5, 2012 at 16:56

Celina, you live a charmed life. I love it when you share tidbits from your everyday life, places and people you have seen and food you have eaten, so please don’t stop. I did not take the restaurant note comment in a negative way at all, no one can accuse you of being tacky.

Charmed life => envy, especially in Norway, home of “Janteloven”.

Thanks for the foray into London haute cuisine, now I will have a hankering for sashimi. We are into Thanksgiving this weekend so Turkey it is. Did you buy Linus anything????? Safe journey home and can’t wait to see your treasures.

Everything sounds fine. But.. CONOR HARRINGTON? Do you really enjoy his paintings? Well i prefer to see them as graffiti not on my wall. Anyway maybe you choose the best one. So i really like to see them.ح

Celina October 6, 2012 at 12:24

Yes, he started with graffiti, but have you seen his new works? Check out dead meat. If you search for conor harrington in the sidebar the two paintings we bought last time should come up :)

(shame about the windy streets of London..)

I feel like I can conquer the world now ;)

Seems fun, and it must be nice to get to a big city, Monaco seems great but it is still rather small, mind you, they seem to have great shopping!

I was just wondering what nutrionist you went to. I’m trying for an diet overhaul but not sure where to start and think a proper nutrionist would be great.
Did you find them helpful ?
